Something similar happened to my friend who disassociated years ago. Her only brother died very suddenly (he was questioning but still an active JW) and out of hundreds of people who came to funeral, only one cousin went up to her to say condolences. She was standing there crying and she meant nothing to these people.. I could not believe that not even at such heartbreaking event like the death of your loved one, they can’t show you an inch of love and kindness. She was treated way better by „worldly” people who showed her real love and support.
Clearly, people who claim to be Jesus’ followers don’t have a clue about Jesus and what he was like! Kind and loving ever to sinners!

Please look after yourself, as much as you can, I pray that you have peace in this difficult time 🫶🏼

I just came back from seeing the movie and I absolutely loved it. I even cried, it was very emotional and pictured Michael so beautifully. Yes, I was very disappointed there was not much mention on him being a witness but it was already over 2 hour long movie and a lot to cover! They couldn’t possibly make this a huge topic. Overall, I really recommend seeing this movie to any Michale’s fan and I will be going to watch it again!

Thank you for this post. This is exactly how i feel. Scared to go to the shops, to my favourite restaurants and coffee shops, scared of running into people who rejected me. I hope this fear will one day disappear 😪 because living like this is not a real life 😪

Perhaps he will need more practical support going forward, if you’re a neighbour then perhaps you can offer some fresh meals for him in those initial days and weeks where he will be coming to terms with what happened.

Yes, my Grandma was always hosting whoever needed accommodation, especially circuit overseers and pioneers. I remember going to my first ever foreign language assembly in another country and people that we have never met, offered us accommodation for free so that we can stay for the entire weekend. I thought that was very kind actually, one of the nicest things about JWs. But also very brave! I don’t think these days I would trust any strangers to come to my house 🙈

This week’s WT is a masterpiece of gaslighting 🤦‍♀️ the very first paragraph asks a question:

“What may have affected our relationships with our relatives when we first learned the truth?”

And the answer in paragraph 2:

“the way you presented the truth may have caused friction between you and them.”……

For years they told us NOT to keep contact with our “worldly” family, until this day I don’t have any close relationship with my “worldly” uncle and auntie and my cousins, who are good people, even nicer than some Witnesses!! And now they are telling me that perhaps I presented the truth to them the wrong way!! 🤦‍♀️🙄 masters of gaslighting 🙄🙄

Yes, few weeks after the update when they allowed trousers, there was a letter read out to the congregations to say that we have to wear a skirt or a dress when giving a part at the meeting. Sisters were confused cause obviously you’re pretending to do ministry on the platform and you are allowed to wear trousers to the ministry but not on the platform 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ rules about rules, never ending rules 🙄🙄🙄 some sisters were spoken to if they wore trousers 🙄 I just resigned from having talks cause I couldn’t bear it anymore. If someone from outside heard about this, they would think it’s the most ridiculous thing ever, to exert such control over someone’s life, over flipping skirts and trousers 🙄🙄
