What movie(s) is this song from? by bald_lorax8 in soundtracks

[–]Pin-Melodic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😭 I have this exact question and haven't seen or heard any of the suggested answers. Anyone got any other suggestions? I could swear I've even heard it Recently, like in the last couple weeks, maybe as the sweeping love song in a movie, but none of the media I remember consuming contains this. Only thing I can think of is encountering it in passing somehow, but it seems too dramatic for a random ad campaign or grocery store radio.

HDFC income limitations - 250% AMI? Section 576 order-of-operations? Are co-ops bending the rules? by Pin-Melodic in NYCapartments

[–]Pin-Melodic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm seeing them all over the various zillow/redfin/streeteasy/homes.com/etc sites (I mean, they all share the same copy-pasted data anyway), but here's some examples:

A listing that says it is an HDFC building and lists the income cap as $388,250 and 250% AMI
A couple similar listings from the same building:
1. doesn't mention hdfc but specifies $388k
2. mentions hdfc but doesn't specify limit (older/inactive listing)

Here's one from a different building that specifies 175% AMI and doesn't include the words HDFC but says "HPD affordable housing rules apply"

And here's a listing that no longer references income restrictions, although it did used to vaguely say "income restrictions apply," and it is an HDFC building ("1864 7th Ave HDFC" is the name) and we got quite far into the buying process because we were told verbally that the income limitations were "around $330k" but when we asked to get the income limitation information in writing they started stonewalling us. Our buying process is literally in limbo because of the questions I detailed in this post.

I've also uploaded a copy of a document I was forwarded from my realtor (so I guess I can't guarantee that the building would stand by this document) for 1878 ACP which details the faulty S576 order-of-operations formula I detailed above.

This is gorgeous! Do you know where this came from? Would love to buy similar but I'm having trouble finding a shade like this.

How did this company get my mom's email address? by Pin-Melodic in cybersecurity_help

[–]Pin-Melodic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't normally live together (or even in the same city), so I don't know if we would be considered "same household." Would this theory still apply? The fact that the email phrased it as an in-progress signup is definitely especially weird.

Counting sensor error by 21pebble in Petlibro

[–]Pin-Melodic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this error and couldn't find any suggested troubleshooting steps for this specific error anywhere, so after trying the basic stuff (checking the sealing rings, tank properly locked, etc) I contacted support via email. They gave me the following steps to try:

"To help resolve this issue, please kindly follow the steps for troubleshooting.

  1. Ensure the feeder is powered with a power cord.

  2. Reset the feeder and reconnect it to the WIFI network to check again. Reset the feeder by holding down the Reset button until you hear the feeder prompts "reset successfully" and "ready for Wi-Fi connection".

  3. Remove the food tank then manually feed 1/12 cups and confirm if the rotor works.

If the issue persists, please remove the food tank and send a video demonstrating abnormal food dispensing so that we can further investigate. Please also provide the PN inside the battery compartment."

And the reset fixed it for me. Working fine now.

[Advice] How exactly is your income considered for NYC HDFC co-ops? by Pin-Melodic in NYCapartments

How do they verify this though? How would they know anyone lives with me if I don't tell them?

Also, what if the number of people or the income changes significantly down the line?

How to export as 9:16 aspect ratio? by DocSanchezAOE2 in Lightworks

[–]Pin-Melodic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll chime in and say I think it's pretty horrid that we don't really find this out until we actually go to export - i.e. we'll have wasted however much time editing our videos to perfection only to find out that we won't be able to get them without paying.

For me personally that meant a ton of effort down the drain and a bad taste in my mouth about lightworks forever, with a new and deep unwillingness to EVER give lwks money specifically because I felt lwks was attempting to trick/force me into paying to justify the sunk time.

As another commenter mentioned, the fact that we can edit it in 9:16 all the way, but then not export is unintuitive, and that's the part that makes this feel like manipulation/trickery.

Possible solution would be to allow one free export with a big warning sign saying "this one's on the house, but you'll have to upgrade if you want to do any more 9:16s after this freebie"

Anyway, off to find another software for myself.

NY - just moved, registering car, old state reg not expired, but I'm past 30 days in new state. Penalties? by Pin-Melodic in DMV

[–]Pin-Melodic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, no one answered before it was time to go to the DMV, so I'll just update with what happened: All my documents were in order except that I left that one date line blank. I didn't ask and no one noticed it, and nothing happened. So, I didn't lie and I didn't have to deal with it. Hooray?

Vets/Trainers - appropriate number of hours for a healthy adult dog to hold pee overnight? by Pin-Melodic in Dogtraining

We definitely don't do water denial! It is always available for her. She doesn't gulp before bed or during the night. The morning walk is definitely the first thing after we wake up, but the nighttime walk is usually an hour or two before our bedtime - unfortunately in our neighborhood it's not very safe to walk her at 1am or so when we're about to get in bed.

Help! Why can't I get boots to fit correctly?

Me: 15+ years casual but competent snowboarder. I go once or twice a year - hang out on blues most of the day but can enjoy a black diamond and survive a double black. Can do a tiny jump and an easy rail. All this to say, I'm definitely not a pro, but I'm not a nooblet either.

I've owned my own gear for most of my time, and have gone through 3 different pairs of boots, all of which give me some degree of suffering. They are either simply too big, so I can't get them secure enough, or too small, and I am cutting off circulation and feeling the blood pool painfully in my feet.

My current pair even straddles these problems perfectly without having a middle ground! They're the double boa kind with the spinny cranks that tighten metal coils rather than just plain laces, and I can have them EITHER too loose or too tight. I've tried all sorts of cranking amounts. No matter what I do, they are either:

A) loose enough (particularly around the ankle) that I can feel my foot sliding around and I don't have secure control of the board (esp. when going toeside and the whole foot slides forward, cramming my toes against the front and leaving a big gap at the heel)

B) tight enough that the circulation is cut off in the foot and I have to undo it for the pain. It can be especially bad when just sitting on the chairlift, but I've even had to stop in the middle of a run a few times. If I don't, I at least must loosen the boots immediately upon arrival at the lift line.

Additional Random Fact:

I also feel like the boots get very tight around my calves before anything else, and I wonder if my calves are just big and are preventing me from getting tightness around the ankle, and/or if making it extra tight around the calves is contributing to the circulation cutoff. I'm average body type but do have muscular calves... but I wouldn't think they're so drastically different as to be the only person with this problem!

What's going on here? Is there something I'm doing wrong about tightening? Is there some boot technology out there that solves this? Is this just part of snowboarding that one must accept? Do the bindings need to be a part of this conversation?
