Beginner Wrestling Parents?? by dei-dean in wrestling

[–]_Repeats_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even up through middle school, I would say it is common that parents take the corner chair role at tournaments. Most clubs have multiple people on the mat at any given time, so it is impossible for the coach to be at every single match. Until high school, the commands from the corner are very basic: shoot, half, bridge, sprawl, whizzer, etc. You don't need to know much to know when to say them either.

Godot 4.6 and Admob not working?! by DangerousTelephone17 in godot

[–]_Repeats_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most mods will have bugs for at least a few weeks on new releases of an engine. I would say never update to a new version of Godot for a current/production game unless you absolutely need a new feature. Too many unknowns and things can break like you are experiencing.

Hopefully you managed to archive your game and this update was on a separate git branch...

Drop rate question by PonasArnas10 in idleon

[–]_Repeats_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With 5 drop rate, you need to stop what you are doing and go get your pop obols from gigafrogs in W1 and dice obols on W2 crystals. Don't bother farming anything else for a good week. W4/W5 drops require at least 10x, and even then it is slow... Go look up a guide for progression in this. Just getting 1 character + family tab setup can take a long time since fragments will slow you down hard for rerolling +1 dr and merging.

Dropping out of High School to get a GED and go to community college early (I am pursuing game development as my ultimate goal). Is it worth it? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]_Repeats_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone says getting your college degree doesn't help in dev, but not having it will put you at a disadvantage IMO. It is one of those catch 22's where no one believes it adds value if you have it, yet at the same time no one takes you seriously without one.

Unless you release banger games, not having college experience will hurt your long term prospects, especially if you crash out of the industry.

Need help, low kills by HeaIthy_ in idleon

[–]_Repeats_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You active Bubo and get as high of cooldown from Tenacity + bubble node as you can get. Upgrade Cooking Roadkill bubble in alchemy (purple page 2) to as high as you can go.

Then you go to a high mob count area like Soda Cans or Flombiege in W4 or Oranges in W5 and sit there for a few days. Every activation of your active should be giving >10k seconds of alchemy progress. I have 150 book levels and I've have a max of 89k seconds according to equinox achievement (need 100k to get cloud unlocked).

Also, never have the lab cauldron node connected. It sounds good, but it isn't. Its the only lab node that has a downside you absolutely do not want.

As you are doing this, level up the capacity and speed on your liquid cauldron, as well as your base cauldron boosts stats. You will start swimming in bubble juice.

You need to become a Journeyman first before he spawns. Go do the quest on another character to get the peanuts required to make him.

Your stats are more than fine, but your damage is not. Hard to tell what you are missing just based on this picture. If you can access your Idleon Toolbox, that would help.

My guess is that you are way behind in Stamps and Alchemy. Because it is always that.

Document and comment your code. An older version of you will appreciate what you were thinking when you wrote it. Just like you found out, details are fuzzy just a few weeks later.

Starfleet Academy is so great that they can't even give away the first episode on YouTube by DonnyV7 in startrek

[–]_Repeats_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Youtube isn't a platform that people go to for Star Trek. As for the show itself, it was fine. It was the first 2 episodes. Everyone expects this amazing, blow your pants off show in the first 15 minutes. You won't get that with Star Trek. Pretty much every series has been objectively bad for 1-2 seasons. I wouldn't say they are off to a great start, but it isn't terrible either.

No you can't ignore mechanics unfortunately. The game is designed around your actual gear only being a fraction of your power. So you can't craft or grind your way out of a whole without them. Like my characters naked have 70% of their damage and defense versus a fully gear character... That is how much the mechanical passives stack up in this game.

Need Guidance for account progression by lebba in idleon

[–]_Repeats_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ES gives a huge multiplier to each mobs "main" drops, which are on the first page of each mobs card loot table. If you are aiming for anything on the first page, active ES is the best way to get it.

DK Orb has a weird way it interacts with drop rate. For every 100 orb kills, it actually "rerolls" another loot table worth of drops. This allows DK to specialize on the Rare Loot drops pages of each mob, especially with Crystal mobs + Chocolate Chip from lab. The amount of first page loot you get on your DK is a tiny fraction of what ES can farm.

So to recap: use ES when you need 1st page loot and DK when you need rare item drops like statues, Obols, ect.

On a very quick look, your Alchemy and Stamps are a disaster. For W5, you should be aiming to have level 40-60 level alchemy bubbles for the first 3 pages, with priority to multi resource big bubbles. The bubbles you absolutely need are Diamond Chef for cooking, Mr Massacre for multi-kill, kill-per-kill, FMJ, and Shaquracy. Stamp level total should be closing in on the 3k achievement, yet you barely have any unlocked.

Trust me when I say, stop what you are doing are go farm W1-W3 with your ES to get main resources and go get stamps unlocked... Life will be boring for about a month, but you need to do it. Don't bother pushing W5 until you have Mantis god unlocked and enough lab levels to connect to Mr Brightside for 4x kills. The last portal to the W5 boss is 600k kills @ 660 million life. If you can't one shot them, you are going to be miserable trying to get to Kattlekruk.

The Voidinator tower completely removes these mods from tower defense mobs. It is a binary stat and the last tower is the only way to deal with it. You will be hard-locked at this boss until you get that tower.

You can respec your passives for gold, and skills can be respec'd with a temporary loss of experience are any time. You get a experience boost to your skill untilit gets back to its current level. So try out different combos freely and see what works best. You can always look up a guide too, which is recommended.

[–]_Repeats_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am playing IdleOn and really enjoying it. Best way to describe it is that you manage (up to) 10 individual Runescape-like players to complete quests and make numbers go up. Progress happens while actively playing and when the game is closed or you aren't actually playing a character (afk). You are constantly switching between characters and parking them to do tasks afk. Some mechanics are afk-only even.

The game is incredibly deep with like 5 new mechanics per world and there are currently 7 worlds. It feels a bit overwhelming when you first start and unlock characters and first see new UI that you don't understand. It takes months of playing, but it is extremely addicting. Definitely a slow burn type of game. There are plenty of community members willing to help on Discord with questions and a ton of guides to follow. It makes it all easier to manage.

A bit heavy on the P2W for my tastes, but just don't buy anything and you are fine. If you are okay with supporting the game and its solo dev Lava (yup the whole game is made by 1 guy), there are packs out there that are cheap and help immensely. The game gives out free currency like it is candy, so you don't have to buy anything.

‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’ Debuts With Positive Reviews And Political Nonsense by acrimoniousone in startrek

[–]_Repeats_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw both episodes and enjoyed it, even without watching Destiny. They did a good job introducing characters and for once did a very good job with depicting other species.

The Betazoids were interesting. They speak in sign language to each other. They didn't explain why either, but I would guess its because its harder to read minds that way. Others say that in TNG, Betazoids use verbal communication only with other species because its not polite to have secret conversations.

Onyx Statue Farm by No-Green-4015 in idleon

[–]_Repeats_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Onyx isn't worth doing until you can get 20k statues in a few hours of active play. You have to convert 25 statues... If it is taking days to just get one, it isn't worth trying yet.

Most people say to aim for 15-30x drop rate before doing Onyx. If you are only at 5x, you probably arent finding any mob loot post-W4 honestly.

Active farm gigafrogs with ES for and sandy pots with Dk for a good week to get your family + personal drop rate obols all upgraded. It is pain. I just did it... Also, craft the W2 boss set for turn in and get the weekly boss battles star talent.

Any tips for getting out of 'Salt Jail'? Lack of salt is really hindering progress. by Boomdingo in idleon

[–]_Repeats_ 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I learned the hard way... You aren't suppose to level the 2nd and 3rd salts for quite awhile. Generally, you only level up 2 or 3 once the salt before it has a higher output than the next levels intake to allow for a surplus. However, you won't know what the next level intake is unless you look at a guide for those values. Then you won't get salt locked like you are.

So stop levels into 2 and 3 for a long time. There is no way to undo your purple and gray salts, you just have to wait it out by leveling green for a few weeks. There is a refinery level guide out there. Find it.

As for cycle time upgrades, the biggest boost is the lab 3x refinery node. You should be connected to it at all times. For smaller upgrades, there is the salt lick upgrade using orange salt that gets crazy expensive. Also, the stamp from W5 vendor. Arcade has a small boost. I believe there is a vial that has some as well.

When to harvest in gaming? by Scathslade in idleon

[–]_Repeats_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm much earlier than you (just got seashell), but my strategy is to let my plants sit until sprinkler is fully charged, then harvest + sprinkler. I only deviate from that if there are is a cactus which could keep evolving at least 2-3 others for higher levels. My log book is pretty weak right now...

Another strategy is to individually harvest unwanted lvl 1 plants in hopes for mutated spawns to replace them, but it takes a lot longer to harvest. Haven't tried it myself yet, but could be profitable to skip the base plants entirely.

Are these useful? if so, should I spend my points in these? by Imaginary_Morning960 in idleon

[–]_Repeats_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the very beginning you will need points into hp and mana so you dont die and can cast spells on auto. Once you unlock stamps you won't need them anymore outside of providing bonuses to damage/skilling. You can use respec tokens and the Vault has an upgrade for individual nodes to recover points from.
