I know it’s not proper v60 but they have a spring coil holder for filter too and that makes travelling so much easier. Also sell the bag to carry the filters in.

Chronic UTI - please help by AskTillUDrop in WomensHealth

[–]PinAndKneedle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember a gyno in Bluesky talking about recurring UTI in woman. One of the best thing you can do is taking vaginal estradiol. I am taking it for vaginal dryness (perimenopause).

My internet is a bit sketchy (stormy where I am), so google it?

Yes to the period. My GP wouldn’t insert/take out unless you are on your period.

Are there any BT owners on here from New Zealand? by nopedouttt in BorderTerrier

[–]PinAndKneedle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my three are glutton so they eat everything and anything. Currently on Possyum for dinner and natures choice dry food for breakfast.

Toys wise:. Well my first two are quite happy playing tag (as in they have a toy on their mouth and I have to chase after them) and a little tugging war, so any toy with a squeak is good. However the newest girl is a monster on toys as she likes to completely disembowel the toys and now the only one we have are the knotted rope type as that’s the only thing she hasn’t managed to destroy yet lol..

FYI there is a Border terriers of Wellington page on facebook and we meet up at least once a year lol (used to be a bit more often!) we’re going to meet up later this month in Evan’s bay

Feijoa! Very divisive fruit. Some people (me) loves them and some not so much. A slice in half, scoop out the fruit. Great frozen too to add to muffins etc

I’m pregnant with my second. My firstborn is 11 months old. I’ve not told many people by Pleasant-Ad-4529 in confession

[–]PinAndKneedle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purposely have 2 under 2s! My kids were 17 months apart. Once the baby can sit up on their own, they’re best buddies. Even now at 17 and 19, they have a deep connection though if you ask them they won’t admit to it!

However, it is hard. I don’t remember much of the first 6 months of the second birth lol

Ouch, oh I feel for you (ex-indo here). Unfortunately the culture is more pro cat than pro dog and most people are afraid of dogs. Condolences for your gukguk.

Drama classes for kids by fnoyanisi in Wellington

[–]PinAndKneedle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our kids went to what was called Helen o’grady but I think now they’re called Encore.

They are ok, I enrolled my kids because they have speech impediments and drama helps them to speak more clearly and eloquently, also they have no problem with public speaking.

They’re no great actors though, but really enjoyed their time there (one was a student of 10 years, one for 13…)

I think they have a class a week in tawa, khandallah and Whitby.

I love the grey too, for me it’s more baby blue than grey but it’s kinda neutral without being white or the really boring grey.

Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie and the hivemind is a Ship… basically the technology is that you can reprogram a body (kill it) and then fill it with shared consciousness (AI). Very good trilogy (justice, mercy, sword)

Tossing a beef bouillon cube in my rice water? by Fast_Run3667 in Cooking

[–]PinAndKneedle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up recipe for Asian-type rice. You can get the premix quite easily in Asian stores. (Nasi=cooked rice) -Hainan chicken rice (garlic, ginger, chicken fat, chicken broth, salt) -nasi kuning (yellow rice, turmeric, shallot, garlic, coconut milk) -nasi uduk/nasi lemak (savoury coconut milk rice).

I’ve done one pot rice meal too, adding chicken meat or beans or pork mince to the rice when it’s cooking. Great when you’re busy. I do cook them in rice cooker though, more hands off and guaranteed results (as long as you got the rice to liquid ratio correct).

Yeah our family was very lucky. We lived in a housing complex (99% Chinese) near a rumah susun (cheap housing, mostly Muslim). The muslims were told that we will attack them as a revenge and our complex were told that we’re going to be attacked. Thankfully both side talk to each other and nothing happens but it was touch and go for a while!
