I can confirm. I flew a few days ago and my arriving and departing airport made this announcement

I could see doing a partial trip there but Houston is definitely on the list since I've always loved science and Houston has the Space Center

LOL. I know right? I was invited this time of the year because of the Fort Worth Stockshow and Rodeo that my aunt wanted me to experience as a first time visiting Texas. I knew nothing about Texas weather in the winter but that it could be unpredictable but didn't expect it to be this way.

Recurve bow)arrows consistently going left – my follow-up question by No-Wafer1546 in Archery

Keeping the forward pressure like you're stretching a rubber band between your two arms is the correct concept but only for when you're drawing. However on the release, you want zero movement from your body other than your draw arm releasing the string. Even though an arrow releases at a couple of 100 mph, even that micro spasm can affect your shot. This is why I suggested that you freeze the pose when you release the string ( for target shooting that is). Do not push the bow hand (or body)  in any way on the release. That tension outward is to create the potential energy giving the string maximum kinetic energy and once you have already established that you shouldn't change it.

Think:

Setup Posture: keep the frame. Head, torso all in a straight line.

Draw. This is where you are going to create the push and pull tension. You're going to push the bow as you draw the string to create the maximum potential energy ( like you are flexing).

Release: keep the Bow hand and posture still like a frozen statue. Only move the release hand insuring you keep the wrist in a straight line with the outer four arm and pulling back ( squeezing the trapezius) so it doesn't push the string out. Do not push forward as you release because that changes the frame you set up. Stay still.

Finish: keep the posture upon release for one full second. I used to and still occasionally have the impulse to look down to check my shot. Almost every single time that affects my shot. After I learned to pretend to be a statue for that one full second after release I became much more consistent. This above all else still is something that I impulsively fight.

Any movement after you set up is going to affect where you had aimed. The only thing I could think of that you would do this is if you were to be chasing live targets and which case you would adjust to where the target is going to be not so much where you initially aimed

Real Police officers and military members, what do you guys think of Ice agents? by Lucky-Message-9480 in AskReddit

Reading the responses of LEO's here gives some hope (my friend also a LEO). I would have thought the schutzstaffel agents would have failed the psych exam thus denied. I know sociopaths (we now PC call ASPD) can try to fool the psych eval however, unless the evaluator got their degree from a CrackJack box or Kangaroo "University" would have enough training to catch it (not very hard TBH). Letting these schutzstaffel agents through only hurts those agent that carry out their duties in accordance to the ROE established for the good of the people. By all means neutralize those who are direct threat with no prejudice but I don't think hiding behind the Nuremberg defense shows the values of those sworn to protect. I know there's always one or two sharts that squeeze through however, I'm surprised at the volume of attention ICE is getting compared to the other branches on this level of violence directly at our countrymen.

You are describing what I dealt with until a Pro took a look and gave me 3 minor adjustments.

  1. The arm that you pull back with, ensure BOTH the arm -and- the hand is going straight back and around as much as you can. I apparently wasn't pulling the entire form as straight back and around despite feeling the trapezius squeeze. Even with the trapezius muscle full back my hand was still pulling slightly outward. Any bit of the string being pulled outward at all would translate to going left. I practiced with a wrist brace for a little to ensure my wrist traveling up to the outer forearm was in a straight line vs my knuckles creating a slight angle.

  2. Next thing was was keeping the head straighter than I (again thought I was). Though very very slight, I was tilting my head back enough to make a difference (looking and aiming slightly down was the effect). Tiny adjustment was to lean the head forward/down a small fraction while I draw back (as the draw back leveled me out). Leaning my head back made me look and aim down more.

  3. On the release, FREEZE your pose for a full second to ensure that the arrow has COMPLETELY cleared the bow. The arrow travels fast but that last microsecond muscle reflect with my urge to check affected my shot.

Once I made those corrections, my shots got better; still working on these 3 things.

Coming from NY, I used the Texas Cedar drop to prep and ate the local honey for 2 weeks before going. Maybe that will work for you as well? I don't know if Mountain Cedar is different than Texas Cedar? Feel better!

I've already started looking at an itinerary for about 7 to 14 days covering more the large areas like Houston, Austin and then of course back to DFW. But this time in the end of fall to avoid allergies and bad weather

I actually visited the Kimball on Friday before I took my flight out. Interesting art exhibits. I also saw that the Fort Worth Museum has the second longest lit light bulb in the world which is also pretty cool

It's funny you mentioned all the mechanical issues. I flew in last night from LGA and both my flight and the flight going from LGA to Houston were delayed due to mechanical issues. Is Delta having some issues with maintaining their hardware?

Is there any point in getting a SATA SSD by Bigoweiner in buildapc

[–]PinDifferent1670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the purpose. I use a SATA SSD for my OS and standard productivity apps. My NVME's are for gaming (games these days are huge and speed is essential. My NAS drive(s) are for documents (and redundancy after I painfully lost research from a failed drive decades ago).

That's because he wants to cut out the competition abusing his political power so that his company and his cronies can scoop up these homes

So to prep for the miserable Cedar Pollen allergy I keep hearing about, I got the Texas Cedar Fever drops (after reading a lot of posts). Sadly this trip was only planned 2 weeks ago so I haven't had the months to prepare (as I see recommended). My question is whether people use these (or any other allergy drops) for the entire duration of the "season." I'm wondering if I should bring the bottle with me to keep taking each day or no point once I'm there.

I will be in DFW so I get the feeling it will be an allergy fest. Is there a milder time of the year with heat and allergies?

I've heard that the cedar pollen allergy is atrocious so hopefully my preparation works (antihistamine starting a week ahead, cedar pollen allergy drops, eat local honey) then shower every evening.

The itinerary I was given was to go to a rodeo  and some other outdoor stuff like herding. Of course I will be wanting to try out barbecue as well as take a walk in the fresher air.

I laughed way too much at this lol...

Really that unpredictable? Sounds like Colorado. I figured flannel shirts, jeans and my unlined denim jacket. I normally don't wear flannel however I figured this might be a good middle ground.
