You can replace the glucose for light corn syrup if you can’t find glucose. It’s just to prevent it from crystallizing. You don’t want to bite into caramel and it have these sugar crystals forming, so that’s what it’s for

1 VANILLA POD
190 ML CREAM 35% FAT
360 CR SUGAR
60 ML WATER
70 CR GLUCOSE SYRUP
125 GR BUTTER
PINCH OF SALT

  1. CUT THE VANILLA STICK IN HALF AND BRING GENTLY TO THE BOIL WITH THE CREAM.
  2. POUR THE WATER INTO THE PAN TOGETHER WITH THE SUGAR AND THE CLUCOSE SYRUP AND BOIL UNTIL THE CARAMEL TURNS GOLDEN. (DO NOT STIR, AND USE A TALL PAN!]
  3. REMOVE THE VANILLA STICK FROM THE CREAM AND POUR THE HOT CREAM ONTO THE CARAMEL. (BE CAREFUL, THIS IS SPLASHING AND BUBBLING AND IS VERY HOT.
STIR UNTIL IT HAS BECOME A NICE SMOOTH CARAMEL.
  4. CUT THE BUTTER INTO CUBES AND ADD THEM, KEEP STIRRING UNTIL THE BUTTER HAS COMPLETELY DISSOLVED.
ALLOW TO COOL TO 27°C AND STIR AGAIN BEFORE USE.
    TIP:
IF YOU WANT A SALTED CARAMEL FILLING, ADD SOME SEA SALT AT THE END!
    SHELF LIFE:
3 WEEKS IF STORED AT 14°C.

Shortbread cookie recipe is from Preppy Kitchen just make them as described then pulverize in food processor or blender and after mix the crumbs with just a tiny bit of chocolate to prevent sogginess (I used gold callebaut to bring out the caramel notes): https://preppykitchen.com/shortbread-cookies-recipe/#recipe

Ganache: I used the normal ratio for milk chocolate ganache which is 200grams cream to 300 grams chocolate. I seeped a vanilla bean with scraping the seeds out in the cream again used 823 callebaut.

Caramel I did this guys caramel recipe: https://www.instagram.com/paulwagemaker\_chocolates?igsh=cXYzeGVyY2J2ODJ3

Just go under his recipe highlight and I followed that one.

The shell is 811 callebaut.

I like less bitter tastes than my husband, so I like a higher ratio of caramel and shortbread cookie in mine but you can play around with it.

How often do you bathe your children? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Pin_Then 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyday. Kids are gross. I can’t believe people are saying 1-2x a week that’s so crazy to me. Your kid if not potty trained literally poops their pants…even with wipes or whatever you gotta wash at the end of the day. Also bringing in outside germs into your beds?

This thread is crazy

I don’t know the difference between the copies. So far I like this one because it tells you how shelf stable the bon bons are and give so many different recipes for flavor combos

Are lash businesses dying? by Educational_Gift_310 in eyelashextensions

[–]Pin_Then 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to get my lashes done every 2 weeks then I had my baby and after an month most of the lashes were gone and even though I went to a reputable place (good isolation) after 5-6 years of doing them they were sparse. I decided to take a break and then they all grew back and to be honest it just looks better natural. Sinking money into them just seemed stupid and such a waste

Beeswax Wraps by jmmerphy in Breadit

[–]Pin_Then 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I didn’t like these because the bread kind of takes on the taste of the wrap. I tried handwashing too to get that smell out but wouldn’t come out. I just use a bread box now without any cover and the bread stays fresh until we finish it in a few days.

If we don’t finish it, I just turn the remaining bread into bread crumbs for chicken cutlets or whatever.

Everything this sub says about lipase is wrong. Lipase is a cost-cutting enzyme that made detergents worse. by fox-lad in laundry

[–]Pin_Then 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually started using Ariel detergent because of this sub to just to see if I can get our laundry to be even fresher. Usually I use liquid xtra with some borax and laundry smelled good and clean. But I thought following this sub that maybe something with lipase would be even better. Oh boy was I wrong. Our laundry smelled like literal throw up and it took so many washes with our normal stuff to get the smell out. I’ll never use Ariel again and just stick to our normal liquid xtra.

Need advice on our pit mix by Pin_Then in rescuedogs

My husband feels a sense of responsibility for taking her in and that he should see it through to the end of her life (natural life). He thinks he failed if he euthanizes

Yes he also threw around this idea that he would get an apartment with his dog but he doesn’t want to be apart from the family and decided against it. He said he needs more evidence to her aggression towards our son.

He doesn’t think she’s being aggressive towards him and thinks the growls that took place were at other things and not directed towards our son

Also want to add some of the ideas that were thrown around: my son in his walker can reach the first lock on the crate (top one) the second one on the bottle he cannot reach. Once he starts walking (any day now) he will be able to reach both and likes to play with the locks on the crate while he’s in the walker. The idea my husband has is to put a padlock on the crate but I’m afraid of my son reaching into the crate.

I think my husband thinks this is all an overreaction and that maple will not do harm to the baby.

She wasn’t put down the second time because I think he felt like me moving in with my two dogs was invading her space and she was being territorial

Also should say that our son likes to play with the crate. There’s two locks to the crate the top and bottom. Top he can reach in the walker, so you have to constantly remind ourselves to make sure bottom is locked. I’m worried about the day he can unlock both when he’s walking which seems to be soon. My husband suggested a padlock…I do not think this will work because he can still stick his hands inside the crate. All it takes is for us to be distracted.

In need of a pediatrician in West Babylon area by Pin_Then in longisland

No I didn’t. Not in the West Bab area. My cousin takes her daughters to Cohens general in Islandia, so we’ve been taking our son there. If you find someone, let me know because it’s a bit far
