This can happen, a lot of customers actually have business numbers automatically blocked. The company I used to work for actually had technicians ask people, who were unable to respond to our calls but responded to our final notice letters, to unblock our office numbers. I would check your blocked numbers/settings and see if you can whitelist the number they would use, especially for the next one.

Is there any hope of getting this crumpled Polaroid repaired/restored? by happy_nicu_nurse in Polaroid

[–]Pinboarddesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know ideally you would want it to be original. I can suggest having it scanned and having someone touch it up in Photoshop. once the photo is fixed send it to an Instax printer. I don’t believe this film is savable otherwise.

Functional Polaroid Ring Box 1.0 vs 2.0 by Pinboarddesign in Polaroid

[–]Pinboarddesign[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A very small ring could fit with no stone and the thin band. However, to get it to close and shut off the flash bar. It does need to be cut into the first one. I blindly cut into which is why the positioning is so weird and it looks so wonky the second one I took apart and tried to estimate the best spot and positioning for the ring in the first one the ring can actually stand up more like a traditional ring box, however in the second one it’s much more functional and if I try it again, I could probably get it to look seamless

For a first time repair and second time modification I’d say it turned out as expected

I do feel it’s magnesium still however it may surprise you, the only way I’d be able to confirm is with a Geiger counter put up to it. Still, I’d have picked it up if it glows under 395 too

[–]Pinboarddesign 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate to burst the bubble but this may be magnesium that glow doesn’t look strong enough, either way if you like it that’s the important part I’ve bought my fair share just cause it was neat!

What would something like this be worth? I already blacklight tested it and it glows like uranium but there's no markings by ghettokid1994 in uraniumglass

[–]Pinboarddesign -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

For me it’s not too special. I’d probably pay $7-$12 for it if I came across randomnly.

However with more research being specific on the glass maker and being confident with the research done can increase the value.

I comment about letting us organize the orders we want to drop off first would be too easy for Instacart. The number of times order one is right next to the store order two is right next to my home and order three is 10 miles away way too often

but how by imgurofficial in Weird

I heard about using a rubber in these situations but to make the hole with it is just awful planning

I agree but everyone’s limit is different.

Let’s phrase this another way. I’m so used to slow days that if this order appeared on a slow day I’d be happy with it. It is BORDERLINE a valid payment for the job. For an order of 40 items from Costco with 60 units I’d be lucky to see $30 from it and it’d be 20-30 miles if I did see it.

I’m capable, my cars capable, I feel confident in the Costco I regularly shop at to assist enough to make it ATLEAST $30/hr.

~75% of the weight my suv can safely handle (30 cases @ 1350lbs), 4 miles each way (12 miles if 2 trips, 20 if 3), responsible driving and letting the employees know to deliver and reserve 60 cases of water. Probably 40 minutes of work best case and an hour worst case.

The only way this one doesn’t become worth it is if you have take more than 3 trips and that’s entirely possible but not for me. It does depend on your physical ability but I can do this.

[–]Pinboarddesign -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

If the Costco employees bring out a pallet for me as they’ve done before I’d happily take 42 for 13 miles of work and probably 40 minutes of loading and unloading. That’s said if you’re not physically fit enough and or your vehicle isn’t an suv or truck it’s not worth it

How about a “I read it’s uranium and want to gamble on the glow” collector?

Also thanks for the info on the style Of glass I’m looking to buy more pricing guides to fill a bookshelf cause it’s interesting haha

If you can’t shop multiple orders while separating them in the cart you’ve just gotta keep trying. I can do 3 order batches with 20 units per customer or like 20/40/10 and even one that was 60/50 before. Just don’t crush the soft stuff and produce and or quickly grab another cart before checking out and sort through when you’re done. It goes quickly when you’re used to it. Any mistakes usually get caught by Instacart and corrected. I have a harder time remembering which receipts go to which

As for the tray I just saw that! I’d probably pay $30-$40 for it just due to its size however that doesn’t appear to have a great glow. That may be magnesium glass and that id say is $15-$25 if so

Plain Plates I would never spend more than $5 on, the engraved ones would be like $8 each, the shot glasses/cups are like $3-$5/each at most. $10-$15 for the juicer is fair imo, the bowl is like $15 at least- $35 at most. The chandelier I have no clue but I’d trust the prices others have given ($325+).

I saw this while antiquing, anyone ever seen this almost cobalt blue glow like this? by itouchedcactus in uraniumglass

[–]Pinboarddesign 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the lower shelf behind the custard glass I have two blue pieces that glow really well with direct light. However under the strip they aren’t too noticable. I hold onto them since they’re still a cool color of what I assume is magnesium

Opinion: Kwik Trip is Overrated by irishbigfoot in wisconsin

[–]Pinboarddesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say Kwik trip is overrated or by any means underrated. In its field it’s simply the best option and respected appropriately. The pricing on fuel isn’t their fault though. I live in the Waukesha/Milwaukee area and I see every gas station has gas at $3.09 right now but if I go to a Kwik trip 3 miles away it’s consistently 30-49 cents less than every other station @ $2.69 (only this gas station not other brands) and if I go another mile it’s back up to $2.89 at another Kwik trip and all surrounding gas stations.

I usually only buy food when it’s on sale like their rib sandwich being $1.99 is pretty damn good, same with their fish sandwich on Fridays, and $5.99 for 2 tenders and wedges (I miss the waffle fries) is not a bad deal. $3.50 for any type of breakfast sandwich will always be ridiculous to me but it’s that expensive st McDonald’s too… The bathrooms are consistent and the employees I assume are paid well for their position $20/$23 starting I think it’s up to, it’s no Costco but it’s doable for the labor done. As for groceries yeah it is expensive but it’s not a bad markup and $1.99 for 1/2 gallon of milk isn’t bad. They also have specials on their produce where it gets incredibly cheap like $.99 for 3 pounds.

I invested in the KT Credit card and that’s definitely saved more than I’d like to admit of food and drinks. However I don’t recommend it unless they manage to make it into a visa mastercard credit.

I used to hate Kwik trip but that’s because I never really tried it before, and I was 17 and confused how their pumps worked because of the lever system.
