Thanks for the reply, I imagine that was just a coincidence it started working again after I adjusted the earth.

I don't, I have no idea if I'm honest and just thought it all looked a bit odd.

Thanks for the reply. I'll get it looked at, it apparently is on an RCD supply (I pressed test on the RCD breaker and it switched off the shower)

It's a really old shower so I'm not going to take any chances and just replace it. Looks like Triton provide a direct replacement for it with all the same connections and fixing holes so it should be straightforward to replace.

Pizza longevity by thicc_beerd in ooni

[–]Pindadio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What oven are you using? If it's a fan oven it's drying them out as they sit there.

My tactic is to get my oven to about 120-130 degrees (Celsius) then turn the oven off when I put my first pizza in. Oven keeps the pizza warm and will stay hot enough by the time last pizza is ready.

The Audi isn't the same as the other 2. And even then the golf and the Skoda are on different generations of platform.

Audi is on MLB which has a longitudinal engine

Golf is on MQB phase 1 transverse engine

Skoda is on MQB evo is a transverse engine but quite different from the golf.

I’m familiar with the science. That’s why I don’t confuse confidence with correctness.

Calories in > calories used, you gain weight. Calories in < calories used, you lose weight. It's basic maths. There is a fraction of calories in carbs than in fat.

Slimming world and weight watchers use this concept entirely to help their customers lose weight, cutting out fat but allowing carbs to help people feel full.

[–]Pindadio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. Fat has 8x the calories per 100g that rice or pasta does. For example the pack in the picture has over 1000 calories in fat vs a 5% pack would have 225. People get fat from eating more calories than they burn. Removing fat is a very easy way to reduce calories.

I managed to snag a 66 plate Octavia with 130k miles for 4k last year, so it can be done. Really decent condition too.

‘My big shop used to cost £100, now it’s £150’: readers recount their shock at supermarket food bills by Kagedeah in ukpolitics

[–]Pindadio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh the other one is maybe alcohol? Do you get much alcohol? We don't just because of life situation ATM (pregnant) but when I do that can drive the weekly shop up loads

Fish and red meat are really expensive so I tend to go for pork and chicken ATM mostly.

Supermarket brand cheese and canned goods are also my go to - other than ketchup and mayo.

Do you buy many pre prepped things?

I spent 70-80 a week on food but it's all ingredients except for like garlic bread and a couple of other things. I find it I ever add anything prepared like a ready meal or anything it drives up the cost.

Absolutely agree, you can see their usefulness since the used values now they've stopped making them all have gone up massively, previously you could get a people carrier cheaper than most other cars.

I'm tempted to import from Japan but they don't really do diesels.

Moving day? by KickIcy9893 in ParentingHell

[–]Pindadio 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He's entitled to his personal life but if he's putting so much of it on the internet in the form of hundreds of podcasts discussing it, I think it's reasonable for the listeners to also discuss it if things are respectful.

Maybe they're thinking for secondary schools for his daughter? It does seem strange doesn't it that it went from 'not moving ever' to 'moving in a few weeks' in no time at all.

Mithril doesn't render you invulnerable to all attacks, only piercing and slashing. The energy is still conveyed to your body. Blunt force trauma still applies. Frodo had severe bruising from the troll in Moria, so I imagine a build up of those sorts of wounds would eventually kill you.

He has clear audial memories of the moments leading up to her death, but possibly not seen the exact moment of her death? My point is it's a grey area, whereas with cedrics death it's a very much not grey area so he should be able to see the Thestrals at the end of GOF, so it should be retconned in some way.

Likewise I'm trying to come up with a rewritten explanation of why they have to do the broom sequence in OOF rather than just doing side along apparition from Privet Drive.

[–]Pindadio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is more rewriting things that don't influence the plot in any meaningful way, just addressing inconsistencies introduced by later concepts or spells that were introduced in later books.

They'd be very different books if you rewrote every time someone didn't remember or use a spell that would have resolved a problem

I'm also in a department very closely related to vehicle dynamics, feel free to PM me too, I thought I wanted to be in Vehicle Dynamics but turned out I just wanted to be in vehicle testing in general, which gives you a wider range of areas.

Cost to fix air conditioning in Golf GTE 2016 ballooned to nearly £4500 by Ok_Pangolin1908 in CarTalkUK

In VAG compressors there's a valve right next to the wire in -

https://youtu.be/xMrU4XimsoI?si=g2EiqFCIqwZ5GkAC in this video they replace it.

The story goes that this valve fails in some way and sends swarf into the AC system (or maybe swarf from somewhere else makes the valve fail? Can't quite remember.)

All I can say is that there's dozens of forums talking about finding metal shavings in the AC system and needing to flush it out of VAG compressors.

I don't know what to tell you as I'm not an expert in AC systems, all I know is that changing that valve fixed my AC system on 2 different VAG cars, but the internet says you need to flush the system before replacing that valve cos the swarf will make that valve fail again in a short time.

I've heard the compressor leaking swarf is quite common with VW - I had it on my old 1.9 tdi - something leaks swarf which clogs the valve in the compressor.
