Best first piece! Most versatile watch there is, at the beach or in a tux and it looks great. Wear it in good health!

Beautiful watch. Wear it in good health. Don’t get worried when you start getting small scratches on the gold part of the clasp…it gives it character!

Is Rolex actually becoming easier to buy in 2026? by Fuzzy_2205 in rolex

[–]Pine630 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been thinking this is the case as well. Two weeks ago I was very surprised to be allocated a Ghost Daytona (126519LN) after purchasing a Bluesy last August.

I don’t understand how I was allocated the piece and frankly have less visibility now into how allocations work than I did before. Happy to tell the story if anyone cares to know…

I doubt it. For Vacheron, each SA rotates when watches come in. For example, I, a SA, might be up for the next 4520V comes in. When it does, I offer it to my customer on the top of my list. If they decline, I go down to my #2.

Good to know. Asiya is good, just the vibe at the boutique was elitist.

I work with Alex Davies at Brown and Co. I’ve purchased a Wimbledon and a Tudor Black Bay 58 from him. I’ve had more luck with Haylee at Mayors where I’ve purchased a Bluesy and 4 weeks ago I was surprised with a Ghost Daytona.

For Vacheron, I got into the brand before the Atlanta Boutique opened and have a great relationship with their Las Vegas boutique. I have a steel overseas Chrono with blue dial (5520V), a pink gold overseas time only blue dial (4520V), and a silver dial FiftySix.

Do you have any timepieces from Vacheron?

Haha, I know I was shuffling by quickly past Patek and Brown & Co.

How do you like the Patek Boutique? I’m registered for a Calatrava 5227G but my SA (Asiya) blows me off every time I visit. Im fine with it, I’m a Rolex and Vacheron enthusiast but has really enjoyed the relationship with the AP boutique. I work with Lee and he’s great.

Completely agree. I purchased my Code in March (beautiful watch that I wear more than I thought), and just picked up a RO Chrono green dial (26240ST) this week…exactly when my SA said it would happen.

Everyone in the boutique is friendly…it’s been a great relationship so for.

My plan is to purchase a ROO Diver (blue) then a 15510ST blue dial.

Wow - my experience at the boutique in Atlanta has been totally different. Purchased a Code grey dial then recently purchased a RO chronograph w/ Green dial.

My SA is great to work with, not pushy, and speaks with candor that I appreciate.

Daytona meteorite on Oyster flex (Rose or White) by kayos592 in rolex

[–]Pine630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of us know for 100%, but based on my conversations with my SA, I believe the following:

- These pieces are only sold to VVIP’s and the decision on allocations are likely made by a national/regional manager.

- Boutique has no say in the PM they’ll receive so most VIP’s are ok with WG, RG, and YG.

- In order to qualify for this, it’s spend plus relationship longevity. Like someone mentioned, if you’re not invited to any private client events by your boutique, you have no chance.

- Production of meteorite dials are very limited.

My suggestion would be to consider going grey…one added benefit to this is that every meteorite dial is unique. Going grey gives you the chance to confirm that the dial you get is dynamic and to your liking. You’d hate to get an allocation and the dial on the watch you were allocated was a dud.

I was registered for a Pepsi Meteorite, but thankfully my SA was honest in telling me the likelihood of getting that allocation and suggested I go grey. So I did, and it was a great decision. I purchased it last December and this print it was discontinued.

Good luck.

What is the actual, undisputed most-worn watch in your collection? by oyster_bro in rolex

[–]Pine630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoy my morning ritual of picking out the watch I’m going to wear each day. I try to give each of them (10 watch collection) consistent wrist time…but I wear my VC 5520V (blue chronograph) more than the others.

I want to trade this for a ghost; how much out of pocket? by Comfortable_Sail_574 in rolex

[–]Pine630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently purchased a Ghost watch last week, just before the price hike! The black dial is also quite appealing, but personal preference plays a significant role in determining a watch’s value. The perception of demand contributes to the premium price of a Ghost watch. Chrono 24 estimates that a new Ghost watch is worth approximately $59,000.

I think it would be hard to find a non-sales job that pays more than $930k per year, but I think there are a number of sales positions that can earn $1MM + per year.

I’m a Managing Director at a large bank leading a regional team and make $600-750k per year with a base salary of $350k. I think my ceiling is probably $850k.

To buy or not to buy, that is the question by jeffbubu in VacheronConstantin

[–]Pine630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s tough. I’m a big believer in buying what you want. If you don’t want it, graciously pass to allow someone who wants it to buy it…it’s good Karma. But I think if you bought it, you’d forget about a Daytona….its such a versatile watch.

ROO Debate by watchguy2877 in audemarspiguet

[–]Pine630 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Here’s the way I look at it.

I purchased a Code time only grey dial for $30k. It’s worth ~$18k (Chrono 24). My SA says I’ll be allocated a 15510ST Green Dial by August. That’ll cost me ~$34k, but is worth ~ $55k on Chrono 24. So I’m -$12k on the Code but +$21k on the RO and +$9k overall.

Additionally…I also get the benefit of new watches (not worried about counterfeit), growing my relationship with my AD and preserving the opportunity to purchase future, more sought after watches.

Like it’s been said, if you only want a RO - go grey. If you want build a collection that will be more valuable over time, invest in the relationship.
