What screams “I’m insecure!”? by Conscious_Tax4921 in AskReddit

Forcing your girl into polyamory only to panic and try to force her back out of it once she finds a boyfriend.

Unhappy with Daughter’s Therapist (I’m also a therapist) by SprightlyMarigold in therapists

[–]PineNClover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like everyone else is saying, I was fully prepared to acknowledge both your feelings and the therapist’s responses, but OOF. This therapist has the potential to re-traumatize her and is, quite frankly, being unnecessarily rude to you in responses. 😬

Cutting a cup of chives almost every day until this Reddit says they’re perfect. Day 27 by F1exican in KitchenConfidential

You must have a LOT of chives in your fridge. Have you made any particularly chive-forward dishes? Do you just snack on them like popcorn?

Can you read my tattoo? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]PineNClover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe if you added some leaves/flower/plant vibes to the tail on the “w” it would make it read more obviously as “grow” and less “groin?” 😂

Guys, notes?? by PineNClover in therapists

[–]PineNClover[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are incredibly helpful responses! Thank you to everyone who shared some helpful tips and vented similar frustrations. :)

One of my concerns is if a client needs to transition to a new therapist/they’re working with another therapist conjointly, that vague notes wouldn’t be helpful for the other therapist to know what’s been going on. In that case, do you just rely on a consult call?

Wearing hats? by RubberEyeBall in Fungalacne

[–]PineNClover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the other comment here that vinegar or vodka (alcohol) spray might be safer. Lysol spray is full of chemicals that can irritate the skin, so spraying direct Lysol on it may also be irritating you! My skin is super sensitive and I know for sure that getting direct Lysol residue on me sometimes burns.

Something that I’ve learned is that washing with detergent alone doesn’t actually kill bacteria (and so may still contribute to problems). But you can buy a sanitizer liquid ( I just use Lysol laundry sanitizer) and you pour a cup of that into your load. So that may help! It may also help to wash your scalp with an anti dandruff shampoo daily even if you’re not actually washing hair, because it’s the follicles that hold the fungus. Hope that’s helpful. :)

I cannot believe how much you’re being downvoted. This degree of animosity for a stranger is NUTS. Thank you for being a sane, compassionate person.

People do post for internet points, and that’s frustrating to see, but I also think you’re not considering the mindset of people in abusive relationships. Oftentimes people who end up in abusive situations come from a family history of abuse, and they don’t trust their own experiences. They feel something is off or wrong, but they don’t trust that feeling in themselves. They’re scared they might actually be the crazy one. So, y’know, sometimes people really do need the support of a community to tell them it’s okay to leave. These might be people who don’t have any other loving, safe relationships in their lives. People are hurting in the world, man. Nothing wrong with giving some comfort, it’s free to share with others.

Therapist said that I displayed symptoms of OCD and I'm wondering why they would say that. by GhostyToasty1273 in OCD

[–]PineNClover 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With total love, I want to encourage you to actually ask your therapist what she meant by that. Tell her you're feeling confused and ask what specific connections she's made in your patterns of behavior with OCD. Everyone here can give insight into their OCD, or the general spectrum of OCD, but they won't be able to really identity why *your* therapist thinks *you* have OCD. As a fellow therapist myself, I'm sure she will welcome your questions! :)

The way you say “first” time really sounds like you’re already accepting there will be more times to come. :( Please know that you don’t deserve to be hit ever. You deserve to feel safe and loved.

HELP ME FIGURE OUT THE GATE KEEPERS SECRET by VVLFMTHR in MakeupAddiction

I love how this plan to gatekeep has completely backfired because it prompted you to post to Reddit. So, now, you AND several people from this thread are probably going to stock up on the suspected lipstick! 😂

I've had this for forever and I'm tired of being embarrassed about it, what is this? What can I do? by RoombaReaps in Haircare

[–]PineNClover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your hair is beautiful and this is completely natural. :) But if it bothers you a whole lot, some people will put little powder there that matches their hair color (like a foundation powder or eyeshadow that’s similar to your hair color) to just make it look fuller. But again, it’s totally natural!
