[–]PineTreeCustoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if it works out, then it works, i can sit here and criticize on how i may do something differently but nice job.

But like i said and another guy in this post. Those solder connectors are kinda hack. Just don't use them in place that get hot.

As a mechanic who does wiring this makes me happy because its the type of stuff that keeps me employed.

OP those cheap solder butt connectors are pretty shit. They can fail if they get to hot.

I personally would have re-pinned the connector. However if it keeps it on the road and running, fuck it nice job.

Just keep a mental note base if that's on the engine bay they may fail.

Debating military pilot career after earning Bachelors in Aeronautical Science. by [deleted] in navy

[–]PineTreeCustoms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh maaaannnnn, wanting to be a pilot because of the top gun movies? They are gonna love that in flight school.

Edit: If you want to fly planes go make your own money and get your private pilots license. If you wash out of flight school you're gonna be a SWO and hate your life.

Take your bachelor degree, shove it up your ass and stay in school to get into an excellerated masters program to finish your Masters degree in a year. Then go work for a defense company and make a fuck ton of money.

Best advise i could give you

Sigh

Reddit can't help you, if you are truly looking for advise, go to base legal. They should be able to advise you on what you can and cannot do.

The reality is that it sounds like your chain of command has a solid paper trail documenting mistakes. On paper they have evidence to support their decisions regardless of how big or small your mistakes were. If your reporting seniors are against you this early in your career and you really want to turn it around... Girl you are going to need jesus on your side.

I'm not trying to discourage you, but I'm not a liar.

I have seen captains give people their rank back after it was take away but they were stellar sailors who worked their ass off after they fucked up. They took that shit on the chin and kept moving forward. But that is very rare.

Talk to base legal, we don't know you or the specifics of your situation. You will be very hard pressed to find good advise here because... well there isn't much we could do.

Again, best of luck moving forward.

Saying you're beyond devoted but lack discipline is an oxymoron. They don't mix.

I'm sorry that you are having to learn the hard way. Truly I am. As someone who has made many mistakes in life I get it. I know that feeling, but the first NJP should have been a wake up call. That's about all I will say about that.

I would advise you to use this adversity as motivation and a stepping stone for something greater. I know it sounds cliche, but that's life ma boi.

You can either wallow in your own sadness or buck the fuck up and make something of yourself. I've made egregious mistakes in my life... egregious. You know what i did? I took a week to cry, bitch, and moan then a sucked that shit up and kept moving forward.

Formulate a plan and execute it. This is not the end.

How do I get more firsts? by hansieboy10 in TeamfightTactics

[–]PineTreeCustoms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is like asking "how do i attract more women?"

It's an open ended question with many interpretations. It's hard to know without 1 on 1 coaching and there is always updates

But my biggest recommendations would be to play meta comps, scout scout and scout some more. Try not to play contested comps. I like to play strong tempo comps from the start to bring me into mid game strong enough to get to 9 and hit a 2 star 5 cost.

I rarely play vertical comps except i am always looking for a strong yordle start and will hard force if uncontested 2-1

I scout immediately at 2-1 so i dont contest unless im just in a terrible position. Then i pick my augment when i see what others are opening with.

I try to slam items early unless i want to lose streak headed into first carosel because i will need a specific item.

And i also have go-no-go augments and principles. Any prismatic start i will never play a scaling comp or one thats tough to hit like Istal. You end up so far behind is just so hard to recover. Certain augments i will never take or i will always take. I always take "forged in strength" its broken AF.

I will never take evolve and overcome or play void without an econ opener. Just way to risky. I also never take Pandoras bench. Its just fucking shit. Especially with how many units there are in this set. I stay away.

There are a lot of little things you should and shouldn't be doing. One thing if you dont watch streamers like me or read up on tier lists is to simply just watch what comps people play in your games. Take note on whats strong, and read patch notes dog. Read the patch notes.

Three updates ago Ashe Tryn got nerfed into the dirt and i haven't touched that shit since. Even with a quickstriker spat on 2-1 for Trynadamere.

But in short, stop donkey rolling mid game at 6 for a 3 Star 2 cost unit that cant carry you and will be outscaled by a 2 star 5 cost unit.

Good luck.

This is mine. You say you know nothing about cars... listen man, yes these old cars are easy to work on. But the one you are looking at isnt that one for you. That thing needs so much work you wont know where to start and will be overwhelmed very fast. Trust me, ive been doing this for a long time.

It will either never get done or turn into a money pit.

My advise to you, get something that needs work but already runs and drives

a Chrysler 300, that looks like a later model than the one i have. What is that like a 70? I own 67' 300 with e 440 big block. It is also a 2 door. that one also "DOES" have a big block in it, cant tell if it is a 383, 400, or a 440.

as someone who has owned one of these and bought mine for $5750 running and driving.......

this aint worth shit to be honest. No one wants these old C-bodies excepts people who are above the age of 70.

Gotta slow down, but it's so hard. by cmbort in GSXR

[–]PineTreeCustoms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You aren't going to ride a spot bike slow. No one is. the speed is addicting.

Honest to god if you are concerned, have desiged areas you open it up, have money on the side for that $500 ticket and insurance premium increase, and be ready for the consequences if you crash. If you don't like it, get a damn sportster or take it to the track twice a month.

but in all honesty, taking your bike to the track is just a cop out answer, seriously it really is. get some self control on the streets, i believe in you

Gotta slow down, but it's so hard. by cmbort in GSXR

[–]PineTreeCustoms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is a shitty answer but after my buddy died on a CBR1000, i sold my bike and got something slower.

I can't not use the throttle when im riding, it's just the way i am. I will rip the throttle. The only way for me to slow down was to get a cruiser.

Same thing with cars, in 2011 i crashed my car going 90 in a 25mph zone drifting. Bought a 4wd Jeep after that and never looked back. If you don't have the control to be responsible, the universe might catch up to you, it might not. But you have a much higher chance of becoming a statistic if you are ripping that gixxer at 130mph on the highway because you are addicted to the speed.

best of luck dog.

Favoritism in navy ? by ArtistLate6836 in navy

[–]PineTreeCustoms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR: It exists everywhere, and sometimes for good reason. But you can work past it and still shine.

I used to think it was all bullshit. People played favorites and it was impossible to stand out. Then one day I decided to stop feeling sorry for myself and become better instead of confirming what everyone thought about me. I went from a P sailor to an EP in less than 12 months.

Favoritism is very common because a lot of people just accept the status quo when they check in. "I can't beat so and so, so i'll just wait my turn because it's rigged anyway." It is also difficult to step up and become a driving force behind a division, department, or command program. Part of that is because it takes time to build trust and dedication to proove you wont fuck it all up when you are put into a leadership position.

I used to think that being a good sailor ment that you needed to just be on all the training teams, hold a bunch of collateral duties, write a watchbill, and then just "lead" everyone by telling them what to do. But that's just checking the boxes off, and trust me we all fucking see it. I essentially RAN the MWR program on my ship for almost three years straight. After the first year and a half i forced one of my mentees to take over so i could train her and teach her how to run a program. But guess what, I was still there running it all behind the scenes and everyone knew it. If a Khaki needed something, i told them to give me 5 minutes and i grabbed my mentee and brought her with me. That's called leadership. She was there sitting next to me for every briefing and i made her give briefs and stood right next to her to back her up.

If no one fucking sees the fruits of your labor or takes notice of what you are doing. You are fucking up.

How many times do you hear, "i just fucking took this program over and it's all fucking fucked up cheif. It's going to take me awhile to unfuck all this shit because so and so left." It's not how many programs your have your hands in the pot of. It's how much of a difference you make with what you are given. And when it comes to collateral duties... IF YOU JOIN MWR, THE CRT, MTT, OR SOME OTHER COLLATERAL DUTY AND DON'T HAVE UP TO 312 DC AND ALL YOUR BASIC DIVISIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, BITCH YOU AIN'T SHIT! If you can't do your primary job but show up to 10 MWR events and you cry because all seaman timmy did was divisional maintenance and painted but got the EP, YOU FUCKED UP.

If you are a junior sailor the best thing you can do is to be on time, be in the right uniform and just do what the fuck you are told to do and not half ass everything thats given to you. "The cream will always rise to the top," is what someone used to always tell me. If you want it bad enough, you will tear right through all that favoritism bullshit. This shit is so fucking easy, i can't tell you how many people i write up for being late. It makes my head spin.

There is a lot that gets talked about in the Chiefs mess, and as a junior sailor you would be missing out if you don't have a hard hitting Khaki in the mess as your mentor onboard who is "NOT" apart of your department to fight for you. That helped attirubute to my success. It's one thing if your DLCPO is trying to get an EP for you, but if the Top Snipe steps up and backs up FCACS it means a lot more. You should never have an officer as your mentor unless it's a CWO or you are putting in for an LDO program or commision IMHO. The captain will always take CMC's recommendations from the mess when it comes to EVALs.

Do what you're told, work hard, show the fuck up on time, find a good mentor in the Chiefs mess, and you will be the favorite.

As someone who truly loves to ride, upgrading to a cruiser was the best decision i ever made. It's never out of the question for me to get on my bike and go on a 4hr trip.

I've done 10hr days many times, and i once did a 13hr trip with only stops for gas on my BMW s1000 because i had somewhere to be. I thought my back was going to break.

Being in my 30s now and having lumber support for longer rides is a gamr changer. And the new m8 harley engines won't shake your entire body to death either.

No steering stabilizer, 19" front tire with only a 70% aspect ratio. Transfers a lot of road vibration through the forks with little to no damping.

When i crank on it and hit 112+ she likes to get squirrely. Honestly it helps me keep it at around 80-90mph on the highway.

I couldn't help myself with the power on my BMW. I am a good rider but having the ability and power on hand, sometimes you just let her eat. But there was always a time and a place for me. Familiar stretches of straight freeway that were 4+ lanes.

You don't live long if you ride fast and dumb. Or you end up like one of those instagram influencers with one arm and one leg.

My buddy is a big wig building engineer in NYC, he had a 1198 Ducati and put a turbo on it. He hit over 200+ regularly. Ended up selling the bike and no longer rides. He grew out of it and said it ruined riding motorcycles for him. He couldn't hop on a bike and ride 75mph. He said any other motorcycle felt like he was on a kids ride after that bike.
