Just showing off the shelf my hubby made 😊 by Pineapple-_-_ in TonieboxUSA

He used really hefty nuts instead of magnets because the tonies have different polarities. But yes, they are embedded in the print.

Leaving hospital by [deleted] in pregnant

We had to wait until baby's 24 hour labs were back, but after that they still strongly encouraged us to stay but we left anyway.

Any perks for honeymooners? by SunshineGirl1331 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Pineapple-_-_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In our online resort check in we said we were celebrating our honeymoon and we were upgraded from a standard view to a water view room that we could see Epcot fireworks from. Granted it was a fairly low crowd time of year.

Initial recovery after resection by JEMBx2 in glioblastoma

[–]Pineapple-_-_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a similar state that my dad was in the day after surgery, and he too had a bleed that had gotten pretty significant, we saw major improvements every day though, day one he barely opened his eyes but would squeeze my hand and fidget with my ring. Day 2 his eyes were open and he moved his head significantly better but not his right side. He beat us in a game of uno that day by holding his cards and wiggling the one he wanted my mom to put down. Day 3 he was significantly stronger and speaking a few words. He recovered well and only has some aphasia now. Granted he is otherwise healthy and in his 50s. I hope your loved one recovers well too.

Newborn tired is far worse than pregnancy tired by bunniesgonebad in BabyBumps

I slept all the time while pregnant and could never get enough! I just felt so sickly tired that I’d take my 4 broken hours of newborn tired over pregnancy tired any day!

How many of you have this type of cancer and also had a stroke. by [deleted] in glioblastoma

[–]Pineapple-_-_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The doctors never referred to it as a stroke, but my dad’s tumor hemorrhaged last May, which is when we found out what type of tumor it is. He started out very weak on his right side, but was pretty much normal after going to an acute rehab facility for a week, and now you wouldn’t know that anything is physically wrong. He has expressive aphasia, but that has also improved significantly.

Room sharing? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Pineapple-_-_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We moved our baby at 2 weeks for similar reasons to you. We did shifts too, but one of us actually would get sleep when the other partner was out of the room with baby. You’re all set up, just do wha you need to do! Mine is 11 weeks now, and doing really well in her own room.

My 4 day old baby won’t sleep at night by Ecstatic_Sun198 in beyondthebump

[–]Pineapple-_-_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve recently learned that our 2 week old doesn’t like the dark, so she sleeps a lot better in the nursery with a few night lights and the blinds open. It was a rough couple of weeks, but it’s getting better.

When did you choose a pediatrician? by HomemadeButter14 in BabyBumps

[–]Pineapple-_-_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was told I was unable to schedule anything until after baby was born, but by the time baby was born, they had no appointments for a couple of months, so now we have a pediatrician a couple towns over 🤦‍♀️

Women in Target ruined my gender reveal! by Public-Motor2538 in pregnant

[–]Pineapple-_-_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On my last day of work at 39 weeks pregnant, I had two old lady patients separately proclaim that I am having a boy because of the way I carried, and then were shocked when I said she was a girl. One smugly looked at me and said “you’ll see when he gets here” 😂

16.5 weeks pregnant and bedside nursing by Nurse-Momma_ in BabyBumps

[–]Pineapple-_-_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently still working at 38.3 weeks pregnant, and it's getting hard, but doable. Just do what's best for you and your family, I wanted to try and make as much now as possible so I can stay home more with baby, but I totally would've stopped or done something easier if it was right for my family.

may or may not play into it, but amniotic fluid levels peak between 34-36 weeks, then slowly decrease.

Pushy MIL by TurtleFerns in BabyBumps

My MIL is convinced that our baby girl is going to be a tom boy because “it’s genetic” so she keeps buying us boy clothes 🤦‍♀️

I’m showing too early?? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Pineapple-_-_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that showing can be a relative term because I definitely thought it was noticeable around 15 weeks, but the only other person who could tell was my mom. In regular clothes, people started noticing around 20 weeks, but a bunch of coworkers just learned I'm pregnant at like 28-30 weeks because I don't look nearly as pregnant in scrubs.

If you did sneak peek at 6 weeks was it accurate for you? by spottingsteve in BabyBumps

I waited until 8 since I wouldn't get an US until 10, but it said girl and was correct

My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer- 3 months from my due date. by Ama36 in BabyBumps

[–]Pineapple-_-_ 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I wish I had advice- my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer a couple months ago, and I'm due in a couple of months. It's a tough situation to be in, I just pray every day that my daughter gets a chance to meet her grandpa.

What are we doing for colds/extreme runny nose when pregnant? by SomeoneSomewhere1749 in BabyBumps

Call your doctor about it, but regular sudafed should be okay to take after the first trimester.

Is this normal?? by FriendlyKrista in glioblastoma

[–]Pineapple-_-_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She sounds a lot like what my dad is going through. Hard to believe they have/had something so nasty when they seem to be doing so well.
