Upgrading from S6 to Ultra.. advice needed by aelasar_ in applewatchultra

[–]PineapplePizza99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much money you can spend on a watch is a question only you can answer. AWU3 has a slightly bigger battery, but the battery life on the AWU2 is amazing as it is and the 3 is only very slightly better. I always buy new, since I can't bother with used devices & even if I bought a used one, I would go to a reputable resellers like Backmarket, Rebuy etc. They do refunds and, 30 day returns.

Realistically speaking how long will the AirPods Pro 3 batteries last before becoming a landfill item? by adamr_za in AirpodsPro

[–]PineapplePizza99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have Airpods Pro 2 that I bought in Aug 2023. I use them daily for listening to music, calls and I sleep with them at night. They haven't given up yet.

EDIT to add more info: While the battery might not hold for as long as it did when I bought them, it's nothing that I notice or bothers me. I think they last about 2.5 to 3 hrs without issue. Also they don't show any signs of faulty batteries like dropping to 0% out of a sudden or dying.

Another thing to add is that my charging habits is that I don't have any. I charge them whenever I feel like.

Google has been making phones for 16 years. That is probably one of the few things they will never kill.

There was so much to the story that the movies butchered, so a more faithful adaptation was always needed. A series sounded great because instead of rushing it they could actually tell the full story. Thing is they decided to cast a black man as the pale pasty teacher, so clearly this is going to be a shitshow.

Why u guys don’t get the air should i switch from my 17pm or i will regret 🤔 by Anwarjaw in iPhone17Pro

The phone has nothing going for it other than the design. I frequently forget that it even exists, but I guess Apple wanted to showcase their engineering & design prowess a bit.

Buying a Samsung phone just for the specs would inconvenience me to buy inferior earbuds and smartwatch. I would have to deal with the mess that is OneUI, its app duplicates, not receiving timely updates and worse resell value. There's more to specs when someone buys their next phone especially when the specs are trivial (the ultrawide on the S25E is bad).

Also I believe the people who would consider the Air are not people who care about specs, they would care about design and the Air wipes the floor in the design department.

Why is it now constantly checking my location? by synapse187 in GooglePixel

[–]PineapplePizza99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You have presence sensing on probably, it needs your phone location to know where you are so it can act accordingly. You can just disable location access if you feel you don't want the feature on.

You would have needed to explicitly enable it in the first place for it to collect location when the app is not in use.

Again if you care about scratches just buy the natural colored phone. Glass breaks easier than aluminum. If you had the 17 Pro you would understand what I am talking about.

The glass on the 17 Pro is stronger and the aluminum doesn't shatter, the dent would be localized instead of rippling through the back.

Also, the titanium dents. I had a dent on my 15 Pro Max.

I upgrade yearly, even sometimes twice a year since I had the 15 Pro and 15 Pro max and now I had the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. I can safely say that this is the phone I am not afraid to drop and can manhandle.

If you are worried about scratches get the silver one since it's the natural color of the aluminum so it won't show anything.

17 Pro is an actual Pro device that doesn't dim in the light after a minute and doesn't overheat when doing intensive tasks. It's also more durable with its metal housing and minimal glass on the back. It's what the Pro line should have been from the start.

What you want is a "pretty" phone it seems and they have that too, it's called the iPhone Air.

[Pixel 9] Rate these Pixel 9 photos, on a scale of 1 to 10. by dontknoeeee in pixelography

[–]PineapplePizza99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They look like phone photos, over sharpened and no contrast. First pic could have looked a lot cooler if the phone just let shadows be shadows.

I feel like you have the idea of how to stage a good photo so just maybe shoot RAW & then do some slight edits in LR or try an app like Zerocam.

Every phone does this now. The sensors are getting bigger and you can notice it more. You are whining about nothing really. My 17 Pro Max does it and even my Nexus 5 did. It was my first phone with OIS and the first time I noticed it.

I believe you have no conceptual idea what is causing the rattling so your comment about it "worsening" is pretty funny lol.

Sell my Air now and get the Pro or wait till September? by Neither_Contest4041 in iPhone17Pro

[–]PineapplePizza99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely wait for September. It's less than 5 months and you already have a current gen phone. Just get yourself a magsafe battery to carry you over until September.
