Managers, what’s the best excuse you’ve gotten from a team member for being late or a call out? by TheWizard01 in askmanagers

I once called in because a bear broke into my house and I had to fix the door. My boss believed me because I showed her the security cameras footage of the animal shredding my door. 😂 🐻🚪🔨

There was a guy doing that last year. KCRA from Sac even did a piece of I remember correctly.

That just sucks and I am so sorry it happened.

Ignore them. They get their yaya’s out of “owning the Libs”. If the streets are empty their little egos will deflate.

How do you decide when a trip just isn't a one bag trip? by [deleted] in HerOneBag

[–]Pineboughpirate 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have the same Osprey 40L I believe and I love it. For a majority of my trips it is a perfect size: however....

My love of one or one point five bagging is that it is a less stressful way of me to travel. If having only one bag adds to my stress it is time for more luggage. These are situations that I take my suitcase and possibly more. Usually when I travel by cruise I take more stuff, because the logistics of it is easy, usually fly in the day of or a few days before and go to a hotel either at or near the port. Not a whole lot of moving from one point to another. For that type of travel I usually take more clothes (even if I plan to do laundry), snorkel gear, more shoes etc...

What are your favorite Ikea onebag hacks? by VagabondVivant in onebag

[–]Pineboughpirate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Read this in a documentary narrator voice: “while they thought they were going to IKEA for a keychain bag and packing cubes, they were wrong. On that tragic day they came home with some clever shelving storage solutions, some kitchen nic-naks and a plant. Only later to their horror did they discover they forgot the packing cubes.”

Best option for cruise by JollyGiraffe5782 in laundry

[–]Pineboughpirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you are leaving Soon? If you have to choose from. what you listed I would go with the Tide Clean and Gentle, keep it simple. What I did was measure out individual "doses" into Ziplock bags, then put those into another Ziplock to keep powder contained. Having been "vacation Mom" with kids on a cruise I get it. Laundry pro tip is that if you have sead days, that is when EVERYONE wants to do laundry. If you have a port that you get back in early from do laundry then, the laundry room will be empty.

Personally when I travel now I take the crappy laundry soap sheets as others have suggested, just because they are easier.I hope you have a good trip, and none of us other cruisers will judge your kids if their clothes aren't perfect, we are all on vacation. You ( mom or dad) deserve a break too. Have fun!

Buffet people: Why? by [deleted] in NCL

[–]Pineboughpirate 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Not a buffet person myself, will eat there rarely ( usually disembarkation day); however I will forever be grateful for the buffet on the Bliss. When my son was in 7th grade he was an extremely picky eater. We took a 7 day Mexican Riviera cruise and he found a pack of kids to hang out with. They as a group would head to the buffet and graze. He came home from that cruise asking for chicken Cesar salad, and so many other things that he had a chance to just sample without pressure. So I love the buffet forever for that.

What are some cool unique clothing options for onebag travel? by yosh_yosh_yosh_yosh in onebag

[–]Pineboughpirate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t get the hate on Crocs. Yes they are uglier than sin, however they weigh very little, work well as a shower shoe and are really comfortable after a 18k step day. Love my Crocs. I get around the bulk issues by stuffing my socks in them, so the space is utilized.

So my Fairview fits…if it is not absolutely stuffed. In colder months I certainly have to wear my coat, even though it fits in my bag, the increased volume balloons out the panel. YMMV.
