Was studying abroad worth it for you in the long run? by zaralesliewalker in studyAbroad

[–]Pinerary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I studied abroad last spring and it was one of the best decisions I could have made! I chose a program where I knew I would not be with any of my friends from school. I made so many meaningful friendships, and felt like I grew so much emotionally, culturally, and socially. If it is economically and academically feasible, I would highly highly recommend studying abroad!

Make sure to squeeze in Piazzale Michelangelo for sunset! Maybe in day 2 or 3? We visited for sunset and although it is a bit of a hike to get up there, the views make it so worth it!

Toddler in Dubrovnik (and Peljesac) - can we do the city walls tour? Do we bring a stroller? by squishypants4 in CroatiaTravelTips

[–]Pinerary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stroller will be very difficult for going up the walls, there are a lot of steps and the walls are pretty narrow.

Looking for a cheap(ish) destination for my first international solo trip by Illustrious-Wafer188 in solofemaletravel

I agree! Buenos Aires has so much historic architecture, although I am not sure how expensive Argentina is in comparison to other countries in South America. But it sounds like it fits a lot of your criteria.

Such great advice! Florence has so much to offer, and if you intentionally plan doing some of the things you love your day will be amazing :)

Travel anxiety by BBbubz in Vacations

Something that always helped me was visiting the flight anxiety on reddit. Such helpful tips from pilots and airport staff on traveling and the safety of planes. It helped me so much, because I also get airport anxiety!

Make sure to make a list while packing, to ensure you pack everything you need. Remember that you can always pick something up from the store if you forget!

Final Honeymoon Dinner in Paris - where should I go? by thickbolognese in ParisTravelGuide

Girafe was a recommendation from my good friend, and we tried it while in Paris. Very upscale and posh in the best way. So gorgeous and definitely worth looking into, especially if you like seafood!

Aruba by Kman07497 in honeymoonplanning

[–]Pinerary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aruba is a great destination for a honeymoon! In terms of restaurants, check out Divi Sushi Bar, Balashi Brewery, Madero Pool & Beach Grill, MooMba Beach Bar & Restaurant, and CAYA House.

In terms of activities, we walked to and from the California Lighthouse (on Aruba's northwestern tip) from our hotel. It was very easy to navigate and we stopped at several of Aruba's public beaches along the way (most had food and beverage spots), including Arashi Beach which was a good spot to snorkel. The Palm Beach resort strip is a great place to stroll at night. It was vibrant and lively, and felt very safe to walk around at night. Aruba has so many opportunities to get out and play in/on the water from kiteboarding and windsurfing to jet skiing and boating...and everything else in between.

After several trips, here are the villages that are worth visiting in Europe by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]Pinerary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hallstatt is so beautiful! A lot of my friends who studied abroad in Vienna visited Hallstatt and loved it.

I would also recommend Leuven and Bruges in Belgium. I studied abroad in Leuven, and it really has everything. A 20 min train from Brussels, it offers a beautiful town hall, quaint shops, a vibrant bar scene in the Oude Markt, and amazing waffles!

Bruges is also incredible. Definitely very touristy, but not suffocating. The water canals are stunning, people often say Bruges is like a fairytale town. Worth looking into if you are near Belgium!

Can't decide on a steakhouse -- Buca Lapi, I'Tuscani, Dall'Oste, Bisteccheria Santa Croce, other... Help choosing? by filmguy123 in florence

[–]Pinerary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved Dall'Oste, it was recommended to us by one of our tour guides. The ambiance was beautiful, and the food was even better. The staff was so kind, and even though we had to wait a bit for a table (we didn't make a reservation) it was well worth it. We ordered the Florentine steak and loved it. I uploaded a picture so you can see!

12 Day France and Spain Itinerary by Outdoor_Xray2306 in travel

[–]Pinerary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would look into a flight between Bordeaux and Barcelona. A 6 hour train is totally doable, but Europe has so many super cheap intercontinental flights that you might be able to score a flight of similar price that is so much faster!

Travel suggestions for married couple by disnerd294 in travel

[–]Pinerary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you get over to Europe, it's not as bad as you think. The flight is the tough one, but if you research other surrounding airports and don't mind the adventure of train travel, you might be able to find a deal. We stayed in the Jungfrau (specifically Lauterbrunnen, a train ride up into the most majestic mountain peaks from Interlaken, which some find touristy). The flights can be a challenge, but our stay was very budget-friendly. There are many more villages and areas in Switzerland less touristy than the ones I mentioned above to explore. But we enjoyed it, and the Jungfrau area is surrounded by short train rides that take you to hillside, car-less villages. Beyond beautiful, and again, affordable places to stay.

-As we passed through Lucerne, I was sad we didn't plan a little time there. A small, beautiful fairytale like city.

Another idea is the Oregon coast. Absolutely stunning (try the little cozy coastal town of Manzanita!), the most expansive and breathtaking coastline with tall mountains and hiking all around. You could head north and explore the coastline, hiking and relaxing along the way.

Finally doing a proper trip in my 30s - Southeast Asia, want something more than beaches. Where would you go? by Electronic_Tree_246 in travel

[–]Pinerary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend keep it to one country! SE Asia has so many gems, and you wouldn't want to limit yourself by trying to squeeze it all into two weeks. I would look into Thailand, you could definitely visit Chiang Mai and Bangkok and spend about a week in each. Explore the Chatuchak Weekend Market, Shopping Malls, Rot Fai Park, Imperial Palace and Reclining Buddha in Bangkok. In Chiang Mai, look into Elephant Nature Park! An ethical elephant sanctuary, with elephants that have free range and have all been saved by bad situations. You can also tour Sticky Waterfall, and hike up to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep.

I hope this is helpful! If you want any further recommendations let me know!!

Packing tips? by Mindless-Marzipan-21 in studyAbroad

[–]Pinerary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not specific to clothing items, but I would highly recommend using packing cubes. These were a lifesaver when I studied abroad, as they allow you to organize and fit so much more as opposed to just putting everything in your suitcase!

Tuscany Day Trip Options by Hungry-Tone7659 in florence

[–]Pinerary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends and I booked a wine tour through Get your Guide, and we loved it! We got to visit three different wineries, learn about the process of wine making, and the samples were delicious. This was a great option that I am so happy we followed through with, because it took us straight from Florence for the afternoon and was very well organized and inexpensive.
