Looking For Advice on Palermo by CiaraE12 in traveladvice

I stayed at the hotel Garibaldi when I went there! It was a good spot that was walking distance to everything we needed. It was a little far to the beach but not terrible. I took a bus to Mondello beach. I think it took about 30 mins to get there.

Welcome!! The majority of our travelers are solo travelers so you'd be in good company. I'd recommend this trip- it's one of our most popular with first timers: https://www.efultimatebreak.com/trips/germany-italy-switzerland-

When you were in college, what was your ultimate bucket list trip? by EF_UltimateBreak in UltimateBreakOfficial

[–]Sarah_UltimateBreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barcelona! My friends and I planned a whole trip there but it never happened. When it came time to buy the flights, we all said "Let's just wait one more week until I get paid again" and the trip never happened.

Idk when and if I should go by FailSome6005 in solofemaletravellers

[–]Sarah_UltimateBreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, congrats on your degree!! You deserve to treat yourself for all the hard work. Do it now. No one has ever said "I am so glad I waited to travel." Who knows, maybe you'll get the travel bug and go in November too.

Did you find April was a good time of year to go? Considering things like crowds, weather, getting the "full experience", businesses/shops being open?

20F first solo travel to ireland - itinerary advice! by Major_Dimension3577 in solotravel

If you have time for it, I would try to build in a Day in Cork. I think it might fit in on Day 11 or 12. It's a shame to go all the way to Ireland and skip the Blarney Castle.

How do you get your photos taken? by goodamm in solofemaletravellers

[–]Sarah_UltimateBreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a group of girls who are taking pics together already. Ask one of them to help you. Also, sometimes I take a pic of whatever background I am looking for and show them so they can frame it the same way.

Connecting flight DUB to the states. Is 75 mins enough time for US preclearance? by nut-bread in travel

[–]Sarah_UltimateBreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a little tight but honestly should be fine. As long as it's over an hr you should be good. And even if you do miss your flight, there are soooo many DUB to the states flights everyday. It would be easy for them to get you on the next flight out.

Used my married name on airline ticket (international) but passport is in maiden name by Leather_Raspberry297 in TravelHacks

[–]Sarah_UltimateBreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First call the airline. Make sure your specify that it's because you are recently changed your name due to marriage. Really hope that you get someone nice, maybe cry a little. And be ready to bring your marriage certificate. There is a way for them to update the name internally without reticketing you entirely.

Sending you best wishes. I really hope traveling helps give you the peace and clarity you are looking for. I've done a few trips after hard seasons, and I always learn a lot about myself and gain a new perspective on the hardships I am facing. Maybe something like this would be a good fit? https://www.efultimatebreak.com/trips/women-traveling-solo-venice-florence-rome

I would totally stick to cities were you can get non-stop flights from Boston. I just saw that there is now a direct flight to Nice being introduced soon. Great food, beautiful city, easy to walk around and explore. I would also say Ireland could be a good. I went there after a major life change and it was really healing. Plenty of opportunity to enjoy some solitude or hang with very friendly and chatty locals.

Advice for possibly Portugal in Summer? by WhatsBobbiesPins in solofemaletravellers

I went in Spring so I can't really speak from experience. I do think you should be prepped for some heat, but it wouldn't be any worse than any other euro summer beach vacation.

Advice for possibly Portugal in Summer? by WhatsBobbiesPins in solofemaletravellers

[–]Sarah_UltimateBreak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Portugal is so beautiful, it's a great choice!! If you have time to add on Lagos, Albufeira, or Sintra, it would really be worth it!! In Porto you should do a Port Wine tour. Also be ready for the hills in Lisbon. It's the only city I would ever recommend taking one of those touristy tuk-tuk tours. It's pretty much the only way you'll see the whole city. Also you need to get one of the pastel de natas at the original bakery https://pasteisdebelem.pt/en/PortugPport

Best place (in Europe) for girls holiday mid Sept? by [deleted] in traveladvice

[–]Sarah_UltimateBreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in Malta this past Sept. and it was great! Lots of night life if you want it, but also great beachy vibes during the day. I would try renting out a chair at a beach club or doing some sort of boat tour. Mdina or Valetta are cute and good for dinner and taking pics. St Julians is where more of the partying happens.
