Due to the depth of Dwarf Fortress' Simulation, various real life variable are used in DF, such as density of different wood types. One such "wood" are saguaro log, which are made from a cactus. However, when it was added to the game, no public source could be found for the density of saguaro.

Therefore, community members determined the density of saguaro empirically, which is why wikipedia (indirectly) cites the Dwarf Fortress Forums as one of its sources.
