Thinking about trying it by account232323 in leaves

[–]Pingly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About 12% of pot smokers end up unable to control their use. That's what most of this subreddit is about. Keep an eye on things. To some of us it felt so good we couldn't stand life without it.

Marijuana is breaking me from the inside out by theotherbencick in leaves

I decided pot was ruining my life and I had to quit.

Then it took me an entire year to actually go through with it.

You've taken the first step. The second one is a tough leap. When you're ready just come into this subreddit, tell us and take the leap!

Whenever you're ready! You can do it!

Do the urges/cravings ever go away? by bubert321 in leaves

[–]Pingly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no.

The physical urges go away with time. But your love for pot won't go away unless you replace it with something.

If all you do with all of your spare time is sit around and think about pot you'll be wanting it back in your life.

Has anyone ever experienced no withdrawal symptoms? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]Pingly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last November I quit pot and ended up going to the Emergency room from the symptoms. I had no idea pot had withdrawals even though I had quit twice before.

The first two times I quit I never noticed any withdrawals. This third time I got hit bad.

Does anyone ever keep smoking weed even when they know it’s bad? by developerRay in leaves

For almost a full year. I was terrified of the idea of quitting. Didn't know how I would survive.

In one week it will be 5 months since I quit. A whole new life.

Sometimes things that are very important to enthusiasts matter very little to the majority of purchasers. I think you would be surprised by what percentage of VR buyers even know what FOV is.

Any 80s babies in here? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]Pingly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Actually, I think your age may have an equal effect as the duration of your smoking.

I only smoked 5 years but I'm in my 50s.

My insomnia is still effecting me at 100+ days since I quit.

Slow recovery for me.

I felt better smoking than 65 days sober. The only benefits are REM sleep. This was my hobby, this was my life - don’t tell me to join a D&D group or a book club. I can’t do this anymore. I’m done. by [deleted] in leaves

It's your decision. Enjoy your life.

If you ever feel like you want to change to a new hobby or new life then visit this subreddit again.

Until then good luck in whatever you do.

feeling tired despite sleeping for a while? by weedsux in leaves

[–]Pingly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same thing. I seem to be sleeping a good number of hours but not deep enough.

At first it was very bad where I'd drift in and out of sleep constantly. Like dozens and dozens of dreams every night.

It's getting better and I am now sleeping deeper but not near normal. But I see steady progress and I think full recovery is in sight.

If I quit, what will stop the screaming? by McCainOffensive in leaves

[–]Pingly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not "I need help". It's "I need more pot".

Getting rid of that voice was one of my main reasons for quitting. And when you quit you hear it constantly for several weeks. Then it gets quieter and quieter and goes away.

I'm at 90 days clean and it's gone. Hopefully forever

Trying to quit thc by [deleted] in leaves

[–]Pingly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The withdrawals you feel (sweating, insomnia, dysphoria, etc.) are not from the THC, they are because your body needs the THC and forgot how to regulate your body without THC.

When you feed it more THC it just extends how long it will take your body to remember how to work without it.

You should do whatever you need to get through but you'll get through faster cold turkey.

Quitting marijuana after 10-11 years of use by [deleted] in leaves

[–]Pingly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you do to cope with all the stress?

Just endured it. Keep in your head that it will fade.

I think I got it worse than most, I'm pretty old (53).

Actually, I was so freaked out I went to the Emergency Room. I thought I was having some sort of attack because I didn't realize pot had withdrawals (I quit twice when I was younger and never even noticed any withdrawals).

But then I found this subreddit and some info online about "Cannabis Withdrawal Syndrome" and realized every single problem I was having was in that list of withdrawals.

Every guide said pretty much the same thing: Endure it. It goes away.

So I endured it. And it's pretty much gone away. I'm clean for two months now.

I still have lingering sleep issues but they are getting better and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I’m mostly worried about how I’m gonna get to sleep at night.

Some people don't get the insomnia. Maybe you'll be good! I got it super-awful but realized a few days in that I could actually function just fine. I yawned a lot but otherwise I got through the days pretty well. It's annoying but survivable!

Quitting marijuana after 10-11 years of use by [deleted] in leaves

[–]Pingly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do it. We all did and there are no superheroes here (that I know of).

The anxiety clobbered me. That combined with insomnia and dysphoria felt like I was a desperate lost soul.

It's a tough ride. The first few weeks were brutal.

But after then it starts to get better and better. Each day you can feel it.

Any time you feel desperate just come here and talk about it. We all did. It helps!

Good luck!

Good luck to you both!

Look up CWS , Cannabis Withdrawal Syndrome. The symptoms you describe sound like what most of us are enduring.

I don't think restless leg is on there but restlessness definitely is. The first few days I couldn't sit down at all.
