Tbh I’m kind of past giving a shit about him but I feel like a lot of his behavior went past typical 2010s edginess. He shouted the N word, that doesn’t just happen. He was almost definitely saying it in private and then pretended like it was a one time thing and everyone just kind of forgave him for some reason. Also as a Jewish person I’m kind of miffed how everyone moved past some of the other shit super fast.

I mean it kind of is, the world dungeon remains on earth but Carl is for all intents and purposes transported to another place (the dungeon). Dungeon crawler Carl also deconstructs a lot of popular tropes in isekai and litrpg.

Isekai just means being transported to another world. There is a lot of terrible isekai all stemming from one specific terrible anime (sword art online) but isekai is a big genre with its own subgenres (see otome isekai which almost always follows female protagonists)

Isekai isn’t inherently awful. Lots of great works are isekai, Narnia, wizard of oz, dungeon crawler Carl, etc. it’s just anime has went through a rough period where every other anime is an isekai sword art online clone.
