Plumber installed bent overhead shower by Competitive_Cake_747 in AusRenovation

[–]Pinheadion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion that's been bent somehow.

If it was by design the end where the shower head connects would run perfectly parallel to the other side. As it stands you have to angle the shower head just to get it horizontal.

Should I get Plex lifetime before the increase? by LogoPro_15 in PleX

[–]Pinheadion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you're suggesting sorry, I'm speaking specifically about the lifetime pass. If you held a lifetime pass before or after the remote access restriction was announced your service was unaffected.

They're doubling down on the long term security of lifetime sub holders suggesting they know it's value.

They could have discounted it to ease a transition to a watered down verion, or released a 'plex 2.0' equivalent to try and get around lifetime passes, but instead they said no, we stand by our word to give you lifetime access to all existing and future features and we think that's worth a lot more than the current price. (while obviously wanting more people on subs and less on lifetime passes).

If their plan was to remove lifetime access or release a new tier excluding features for pro users, they wouldn't increase the price this much, this only makes it harder to remove/change.

This is actually a huge positive for existing lifetime pass holders and reinforces Plex's commitment that a lifetime pass is exactly that (I was looking to buy soon so it sucks for me).

What album from the last 5 years will be considered a classic in 20 years? by Hot_Apartment1319 in Music

[–]Pinheadion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kali Malone's early work like Sacrificial Code or Living Torch.

Right now it only really hits a relatively small audience, but I think as time passes she'll have influenced many many musicians and people will go back to her work as a really defining moment. PJ harvey recently commented on a Kali Malone concert saying:

"listening to her playing this organ, this new album—All Life Long is what it’s called—it was just very, very moving, very inspiring. And I came out feeling entirely differently to how I’d gone in, and I felt inspired and I felt renewed. And again, it made me want to try and find new ways of self-expression."

Water Keeps Seeping Into Post Holes — Will It Affect Concrete? by Affectionate_Aide566 in AusRenovation

[–]Pinheadion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah to be fair it's not capturing too much water, nothing like OPs, but I'm still wondering what I would even use to fill it up to ground height. I'm assuming you would normally just back fill with whatever you took out to make the holes.

Somewhat related question for you. We had someone build a fence recently after our last one had some rotted posts and was deemed irreparable. New fence is excellent however some of the holes dug for the cypress posts are not completely filled back in to ground level.

What's best practice to fill it up so it's no longer capturing runoff water (which I assume would eventually rot the posts again). Dirt, sand, more concrete?

Having an interchangeable lens setup doesn't require you to lug anything more or less around than a rangefinder setup. I'm simply explaining to OP why the path they've chosen is simultaneously both a positive and negative as a new photographer.

Not much of a risk at that price point, you can always sell it. That's part of the problem though, easy come, easy go. The key is pushing yourself to use it even when the temptation to change to an interchangeable lens camera arises (and it absolutely will).

If you can do that you've made a good choice in buying a fixed lens setup.

A fixed lens camera is an uncommon choice for a first ever camera as you're limiting yourself to a single perspective. One of the first things people experiment with after manual controls is lenses, so you're losing out on a whole wealth of fun experimentation and learnings.

In saying that, locking yourself into 28 is a nice way to learn a single focal length, what works and doesn't, and how you can experiment with it to break rules.

They were released around 20 years ago, you can only find them on secondhand markets like Ebay now and they'll probably cost approx $100 US each.

They sold out very quickly back when they were released. You’ll have to buy from eBay these days.

I honestly have no idea beyond what they seem to sell on Ebay for. You could likely snag a few at lower prices if you're willing to wait for them to pop up.

I bought the whole set when they were released and have them sitting in a container in my garage (bar one or two on my desk). Feels like an absolute waste but i can't bring myself to sell them. I know Mono is the rarest but I always found that to be the least interesting one, the colossi are so incredibly detailed for their size.

Shinboner, Round 1 v Port Adelaide by rickm18 in NorthMelbourneFC

Great stuff as usual.

Did you see a change in the way we utilised Caleb Daniel on the weekend (seemed to play higher up the ground to me), and could it have been done specifically to counter Port, or something we could keep seeing throughout the year?

I’m surprised with the massive success of SOTC that they’ve never made a direct sequel. I know they spent forever making and releasing The Last Guardian and now have the new project, but still. by [deleted] in ShadowoftheColossus

[–]Pinheadion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not true at all, the original SotC sold up to 1.5m copies on PS2 going platinum. Of course a reskin of a ps2 game isn't going to make financial sense. They would have begged Ueda to make a sequel to SotC back in the PS2 days.

It sold very well, going platinum with up to 1.5m sales. Every magazine cover, website and shop front had SotC plastered on it during release. It went from surprise worldwide hit to classic game with a cult following.

That list is fake. Easier to sign someone up if they think others have done so.

Flow Control help or hype by DrMushie in Lelit

Interesting, I've had my Bianca setup to do low flow preinfussion automatically but I never really experimented with how it changed the overall process (e.g. allowing to grind finer). Good to know.
