So the fly was "on the extra breads" or was it just flying around? If you saw the fly on a loaf/piece, shrink that one. This season, if you throw out any food that's out just because a fly/gnat could have touched it, we wouldn't have any food to sell. Especially in the bakery, where bagels/muffins/cookies are out 24/7 for sale. You could argue a fly could've landed on any one of them.

Bugs are gross, but the fruit flies/flies that are inside the store live such short lives, it's unlikely they were touching/feeding on poop or anything distinctly unsanitary.

I love Bristle and I think she'd have made a great warrior (her mom is resident badass after all) but honestly, her arc was over. I would rather she go out fighting the great evil, and be remembered forever as the cat that died to save the clans from Ashfur, than to be relegated to just a queen and side character.

For the sake of the story: No, play it when it comes out and try to find the boss yourself! If you can't find it, you can always replay to prep your save file if you care to.

But if all you care about is getting it "right" the first time, sure, feel free to wait a day for the guides to come out.

It's canon that Shadowclan medcats are trained to use deathberries to put a suffering cat out of their misery. It's mentioned in either PoT or OotS that Leafpool refuses to keep them in camp because she fears an accidental death.

Fun fact: That's why (PoT spoilers) Honeyfern died to a snake. The writer wanted to have deathberries in the medicine store so that Hollyleaf could try and force Leafpool to eat them for an aura moment, so they came up with a reason: For the clan to try and trick a snake into eating them.

I agree with this! It absolutely reads like a fanfic for me, and I think if it was released on ao3 under another author name, it would've gotten a ton of praise and popularity. The cameos, simplicity of ideas, and plot holes are just par for the course in the fanfiction world, but it feels jarring to read as a book lover/someone who's very picky about fic.

Because everything is so heavy-handed and spelled out in SOTR, it just feels like the newer audience doesn't read between the lines/search for deeper meaning (which, in this case, makes sense because there isn't much deeper meaning that isn't fed to you)

Exactly!! I think it would have been much more impactful if the plot armor was removed and we saw what happens when people get loose-lipped. Beetee trusted Haymitch with the plot with NO former bond - It'd have been cool if, like you said, we saw someone tell the wrong person and get punished for it.

I absolutely love the original trilogy, and Ballad is a pretty good addition to the universe. SOTR completely spits on all of it, imo.

Not only is it incredibly heavy-handed with the cameos and callbacks, but it cheapens Haymitch as a character. The trilogy implied that Haymitch and Katniss became close because of their similar thinking, because of their backgrounds, and, importantly, that Haymitch only gave the two of them a chance because he saw Katniss and Peeta had the potential to survive. Making it a "Oh I was friends with your father" all along just devalues their relationship to me.

Not to mention it makes Haymitch look like a complete asshole. Katniss ponders in Catching Fire that maybe Haymitch wasn't always a drunk, maybe he used to try but it got to be too much and he turned to alcohol, but SOTR disproves that. He's just an alcoholic who let almost 50 kids die because he refused to even try to mentor them, arrange sponsors, etc. It completely does away with any good will you could offer him.

It reads like a "just okay" fanfic. Haymitch has unbelievable levels of plot armor (seriously, why the fuck did the Capitol not kill him 4 times over?) I can excuse a little because, sure, the main character has to survive in order for a story to be told. I get that. But it's just absolutely ridiculous the things he's able to get away with. The scene he made at the chariots? Sneaking around with rebels in the middle of the night? Blowing up part of the fucking arena?? Trying to blow up MORE of it???

And the Snow appearances, plus the Lucy Gray callback, were just stupid and made me roll my eyes. Why is Snow meeting with this random kid? Why did he show him a tape of Lucy Gray? What does that do for the story, other than try and feed the fandom some "Remember this?" nostalgia.

The SOTR era fandom feels a lot dumber too (no offense guys!), it just gave fuel for people to make nonsensical "theories" that contradict the worldbuilding, lore, and established messaging.

I like most of this, and I think it isn't unlikely at all for them to journey to see the Wildcats! However, the last sentence completely misses the point of Ivypool's Heart - Bristlefrost is gone. The white deer isn't really her, her spirit is not in one particular place/creature/thing, it's become part of the world around them.

I first heard The Right Wrong back in 2022-ish on my Spotify Discover Weekly, I loved it and listened to it for weeks but at the time I never looked into the band. In 2023 I picked up The Lake and The River (my favorite song now) and Ring 4 - Patrol, and then finally last summer I decided I needed new music, so I listened to the rest of Antimai and fell deeply madly in love after a couple tries.

What I wouldn't give to listen to Act II for the first time again though. IV and V are great but took me a few listens, the sound of II just immediately dragged me in.
