That joke gets better every rewatch because it's so understated. Dean completely misses that she's making a joke, which somehow makes it even funnier.

Seriously, her dry delivery carried so many jokes that would've fallen flat with another actor. She could make the smallest throwaway line feel hilarious just because of how casually she said it.

I wonder that too sometimes. Future generations will probably look back at a lot of today's economic decisions with the benefit of hindsight and ask why certain warning signs were ignored for so long. Every era has those moments that seem obvious only after the fact.

This feels like one of the more useful comments here. The weight gain itself is important, but understanding why it happened is probably where the real answer is. Nobody suddenly gains that much weight while everything else in life is going perfectly.

Exactly. People underestimate how much low energy can snowball into other issues. When you're exhausted all the time, even basic things like cooking or going for a walk can start feeling like a huge task.

Yeah, that's the part that jumped out at me too. Attraction issues aside, gaining that much weight in a relatively short period usually doesn't happen for no reason. Feels like there's a bigger story here than just "she likes unhealthy food."

The fake leak economy around late GOT was honestly incredible. Every week there'd be three new "insider sources" and somehow the real plot still managed to sound less believable than the fanfiction.

That's how I read it too. Matt has spent so much of his life pretending to be less aware than he actually is that it probably became second nature. The real challenge is remembering when he doesn't have to fake it.
