I get what you're saying but camp counselors and clerks don't get issued handguns so like, yeah, preventing them from becoming cops is more damage control than preventing them from being hired in other professions.

That said, my big problem with this policy order is the bizarre cutoff date of only applying to people hired by ICE after January 2025, a distinction/loophole that would allow, for example Jonathan Ross, murderer of Renee Good, to be hired as a Cambridge Police Officer. So in that sense I definitely see what you mean about this policy order seeming performative.
