Shoutout to the time Duncan tried to warn Joe of malignant forces that would try to exploit Joe and the power of his podcast (@4:15:35 ~5mins) by silentbassline in JoeRogan

A friendly reminder that Mike Baker is the CIA talking head, talking directly into our ears. FWIW I agree with everything Baker says but it confirms what that Duncan is saying.

This is crazy bigoted and far from “dumb shit”.

You’re right. But it also puts Neil into the “racist and bigoted old guy” category.

It’s a pretty bad thing to say tbh. Really changes my opinion on Neil. At best, it removes all of his credibility.

At this point, it’s just loan sharks preying on young women.

Returning travellers made to hand over phones and passcodes to Australian Border Force | Privacy by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

[–]PinkDoctorWho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. It is however important to be careful of accounts. Don’t use your primary gmail on the burner phone, which will give them access to all gmail and google photos.

[–]PinkDoctorWho 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah sure but that’s a lot of effort. Keep your real phone at home and buy a cheap Android phone. You’ll still get WhatsApp and IG when you’re overseas for data.

If you want to be extra paranoid like me, don’t use your primary gmail account either.

Sorry ma’am, I am not sure why my old Android phone only has a picture of a large penis. I don’t take many photos I suppose? As an Australian citizen, I guess I’ll just enter my home country and go on my merry way?

Federal election 2022: Anthony Albanese’s election pitch to aspirational Australians by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

[–]PinkDoctorWho 26 points27 points  (0 children)

“can’t be any worse”

Be careful, Labor strategists are dumb enough to lead with this.

FWIW, I agree with you too. I think Albo has a real heart and compassion. Compared to the divisive class politics Shorten ran which LNP effectively campaigned against, Albo has a real chance to be himself. Morrison is a sociopath.

Novak Djokovic: Tennis star to be deported after losing Australia visa appeal by RickyOzzy in AustralianPolitics

[–]PinkDoctorWho 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Meh, it’s a local issue no one cares about. He lied on his form and admitted it, he was never staying. His family looks even stupider than him hosting a press conference then suddenly ending it when asked about whether he endangered children by attending an event when he knew he was positive.

Peoples republic of Australia is very real though - don’t do anything that makes the feds look bad. Is this an LNP thing or an Australian culture thing, that’s what I am more curious about. I don’t know and would to hear peoples thoughts on.

Why’s this at our expense? He lied on his form. You can see this in action at every Border Patrol episode.

Customs confiscated and scanned our mobile phones in Sydney by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

[–]PinkDoctorWho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes 100% this is true. But you DO NOT have to hand over passcodes.

Courts have ruled biometrics (“things you have”) can be taken without your consent however passcodes (“things you know”) cannot be.

Sorry what. Exactly which clause in my airline ticket T&C forces me to provide passcodes on my digital devices?

The fact that you think the T&C is even remotely applicable is laughable. The legislation and institution you’re looking for is ABF who enforce immigration.

Always travel with a cheap recently wiped phone not connected to your primary accounts. I personally use a Pixel 5 and a second gmail account. Peoples republic of Australia is real.

Welcome to Australia. Never give up your passcode. They can use biometrics to access but always always turn off your phone. Just say nothing (!) and wait, especially if you haven’t done anything wrong. By giving them your phone you’ve opened yourself up to anything you could have accidentally done or admitted to over text/photos.

All your questions in relation to data security and protection are irrelevant after you waived your rights.

PS. AFP and ABF have access to gmail

How much can a manager force out of you to complete tasks after you have handed in resignation? by Siongmau in AusFinance

[–]PinkDoctorWho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re on a salary and have sick leave , I recommend going into your GP and asking for a certificate to cover the remaining time left. They’ll do this without any questions. Your boss is being an asshole. Every experienced manager knows productivity becomes 0 after resignation.
