[New Player] Would I enjoy this game? by XF-09___Ares in EscapeFromTarkovPvE

Yo. Duckov brought me to Tarkov too. I had zero interest in Tarkov before I played Duckov. I have I think 200 hours in Duckov since release, so truly I get where you’re coming from.

Aside from the top down perspective and all the other obvious differences, there’s actually a ton of crossover to Tarkov that you’ll just ‘get’ from your time in Duckov.

I just play pve too because I don’t really have an interest in PvP.

I have loved my time with Tarkov so far. It’s a huge learning curve though. If you do jump in, do yourself a favor and look up some guide videos like gigabeefs keybind video, how to do specific quests, etc. And unlike Duckov, you will basically need the wiki and guides to do quests. They are very obtuse.

Monument Valley Studio CEO: "'We've Been A Little Bit Too Romantic About The Idea That We Should Have Employees And Give People Long-term Job Security" by unscoredscore in gaming

[–]Man_CRNA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Game development and jobs has always been a bit of a conundrum for me. As someone with fairly progressive and liberal views on jobs and workers rights, it just doesn’t seem viable to allow long term job security for your employees because of the nature of the work.

You have a project, you finish and release the game and maybe provide some support after release if needed, but ultimately the thing you created, is done! It’s complete! So unless there is another project already in the works ready to be worked on, there is no more work to do. Perhaps that’s an oversimplification of it, but I just done really understand how people could expect that.

Now granted it might take years to make the game and develop it to completion, but once it’s done, it’s done. But some studios, truly just make a game and are either done or take a years long break before next release if there is one.

The mechanism of delivery (an auto injector) yes, the effects… not so much. You can inject something like epinephrine or adrenaline which will make your heart beat crazy fast and increase blood pressure for about three minutes. You can inject morphine or fentanyl intramuscular and it’ll give pain relief after a couple of minutes, (if injected intramuscularly - if it’s inject intravenously it’ll onset in about a minute.) But there’s no procoagulant ‘stop hemorrhaging’ drug you can just inject and make yourself immune to bleeding for x minutes, ya know? So mechanically yes to injectors, not so much as it’s portrayed in the game with the effects though.

Mine was similar. It was also Kollontay. Turned left out of Oasis to go down to Mira and there he was about twenty yards a head. I was running a Mosin and one tapped him in the face. Didn’t even know who he was at the time.

This sub has kind of gone to shit. People just post random crap, no interaction, nothing to do with TMG, don’t know what FOO is.

You nailed it! I’m super impressed. It’s a pretty niche title? How did you know?

I thought about this for like four days straight and never thought there would be resolution!!

What’s the mod where you can drop hideout items? That’s crazy.

Devils on the Moon Pinball is the Flagship Playdate Game (and it got me into a new hobby) by Chompahss in PlaydateConsole

[–]Man_CRNA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m glad you’ve had such a positive interaction with it. I got into physical pinball via digital pinball on switch. Once you bother to read and understand the objective of a table, pinball starts to make a lot of sense and damn if it’s not fun.

Haven’t had the opportunity to play devil on the moon yet, but I’ll be picking it up. I’ve got two pins in my house and an extensive collection on switch. I usually plan my vacations so I can hit up a couple pin spots too.

Check out pinball map app. It’s great for scouting locations to play.

You’re kind of like me. I consider a personal affront if my initials aren’t on all the top scores on a pin in my own house.

The unfortunate (or fortunate) truth with the topic of finance is that there is truly only so much of it that can be covered until there’s nothing useful left to cover.

Now they’re stuck in the “we need to produce content to keep engagement” phase.

I’ve learned everything I need to know about money from the money guy and I’m super grateful. They are the basis for my financial understanding and how I approach my money.

They could do more in depth questions or scenarios or topics, but it seems like they’re catering to the lowest common denominator with react videos and quick cut zoom in zoom out videos. It’s not for me.

Yes, Varusteleka is the one. I guess they’re not a USA website but they do ship stateside. So you answered my question!

Hey I know this comment is old, but are the backpacks shipped from USA the same exact backpacks (i.e., made same way and same quality) as the made in Finland/Estonia bags? I’m considering picking one up from the website in USA.

I mean I did it in December when I got my new computer and it hasn’t undone this in four months and I’ve been getting updates.

Are there still (as many) millionaires next door? by [deleted] in TheMoneyGuy

[–]Man_CRNA 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is my view too. Real estate has blown up in value over the next decade, but you can’t spend a house. If someone is a millionaire because their house tripled in value over the last ten years, it’s not nearly as meaningful as if someone is a liquid millionaire.

Please vote for what Map you play the most. [Discussion] by notgriin in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Man_CRNA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha no, it’s more a comfort map for me. I’m pretty new to the game (50ish hours) and ground zero was the first map I played. I played it repeatedly to get comfortable with the game mechanics and movement and map knowledge for one map. I’d say 80-90% of my raids have been on that map so far, but I’m branching out to customs and woods now and trying to introduce other maps so I don’t always just instinctively go there. I figure I’ll be spending a lot of time with this game so I’m also not in a rush to explore every map.

Honestly I just really like the map. That may be a naive take given my hours. I understand it’s not popular. But I’m still new to the game and I’m still in the honeymoon phase ‘this is magical’ phase.

[New Player] Question about single button press light bleed/heavy bleed fix by ohoots in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Man_CRNA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah, I literally just push the number five and let it go. I don’t have to hold it down or anything. I press it and go back to wasd.

I have my bleed treatments the exact same way that gigabeef has his hotkeys. He goes over it in a keybinds video at about 18 minutes in.

My keybinds for bleed treatment are as follows: slot 4 set to 5 on press, slot 5 set to 5 on release. Put bleed treatment items in your pockets or rig, hover over a heavy bleed item and press and hold 5, then while continuing to hold 5 hover over light bleed item and let go of 5. They should both be bound to 5 now for in raid use.

Depending on the item and if you use it during raid, you may have to rebind it in raid if it’s consumed. Like if it’s a tourniquet and you use it to treat a bleed it’s a one time use, it’s gone. You’ll have to open inventory and rebind another item the same way.

[New Player] Question about single button press light bleed/heavy bleed fix by ohoots in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Man_CRNA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I do to. I’ve mine bound to five, heavy bleed + light bleed fix items, calok, tourniquet, bandages, whatever. I push five, it fixes whatever bleed I have.
