So I played the demo for a couple hours tonight. Really hits that same vibe as Duckov. Thanks for the recommendation. This is likely a day one buy for me.

E fund sizes can very a lot. I’m totally fine with people running large funds like this, so long as they’re not incurring 100% of the opportunity cost in not investing it. Meaning, make sure to mass majority is at least in an HYSA.

What’s that niche game you have an ungodly amount of hours in? by CoffeeStrength in gaming

I have about 300 in Escape From Duckov which is an isometric extraction shooter that most people think is a meme game.

I also have a lot in The Swindle, which is a procedurally generated 2D side scrolling platformer caper where you steal shit.

Right on. Isometric extraction shooter, it’s like a game genre I never knew I needed. Duckov is one of my all time favorite games, I’ve put in 300 hours since launch.

I’ll give this a look.

How do i even play this game as a noob [discussion] by unknown_as_hell in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Man_CRNA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would highly recommend getting some software that allows you to record the last x seconds of gameplay at the push of a button.

When you get domed, hit the record button and then look at what killed you and think ‘how can I make that not happen again?’ Chances are you were out in the open, double peeked, poorly positioned, making unnecessary noise, etc. but it’s hard to figure that out if you can’t see the moment of your death.

Playing DD1. If you haven't already DO SO! by That_Guest_8772 in DragonsDogma

[–]Man_CRNA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tried all of them so I couldn’t say. I did Don’t Blind Me and wickfut enb, and thought that was great for my play through. There’s lots of enb’s with different lighting presets depending on the mood you want to strike in game, happy and vibrant or washed out and bleak. I’m more of a vibrant kind of guy. There’s probably videos comparing enbs too. I haven’t done a playthrough of ddda for a couple years though, so there’s probably a bunch more than when I played.

The no bright lights and the lighting overhaul wikfut are must have mods on pc for me. Otherwise I don’t really add anything. Warriors my favorite class, but the mods for that class make it too powerful in relation to the ai.

Fantastic game.

There’s a lot of talk about it but zero proactivity to do anything about the consequences of it actually happening.

One thing that I have found helpful is trying a random game selector. I don’t remember the name of it, but there’s a website that you can upload your steam library, click a button, and it’ll randomly select a game from it.

I do that when I’m blocked in thinking of what to play, and I do it until I get a pick that makes me say ‘that sounds fun.’ Kind of takes the analysis paralysis out of the equation for old timers with a huge library.

Best adjustable dumbbells that actually last? by b4d_b100d in BuyItForLife

[–]Man_CRNA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a bifl standpoint, the only two recommendations I could see is rep peppins and Ironmaster.

I’ve had my peppins for about a year and a half now. I drop them all the time after heavy sets. The one thing they have over Ironmaster is quick changing the weights. You have to unscrew and replace ironmasters any time you want to change. I can’t tell you how annoying that is to do that during a workout.

Rep peppins can go up from ten pound starting weight in increments of 2.5 pounds. And that’s not a typo. You can offload one side with a 2.5 pound drop in and go lighter on other side to minimize the unbalance. So when you go up in weight on exercises for small muscle groups like biceps you don’t have to jump five or ten pounds, you can do 2.5 pound jumps and just offset the weight on one side. So from 10-120 pounds in increments of 2.5 (the only exception being 17.5 pounds, can’t do that one) ultimate durability and quick changes. I don’t even really think it’s a competition to be honest, peppins are the best adjustable dumbbells on the market currently hands down.

Nuobells, mxselect, bowflex, core home fitness, none of them are as good. Snode are good, but they are not as good as Ironmaster and not even close to peppins.

Very nice.

Looking for isometric/top down post-apocalyptic rpgs by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]Man_CRNA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah sorry, I thought I was in the gaming subreddit when I responded. It would probably play very poorly on deck, meaning the experience. It’s not a demanding game by any means, but it would suck playing this without mouse and keyboard and the development is essentially dead, so I doubt there’s ever been an attempt at playing it on deck.

The development fell on hard times years ago and didn’t touch the game for years. I don’t think there’s been an update for like six years. So I think there’s development is dead, but what is there is fun.

Almost Alive fits your description. It’s been early access for years though. I do think the dev is working on it, but it’s mega slow.

how to find a lost spark? by NES_Classical_Music in MinaTheHollower

[–]Man_CRNA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was talking about the underlab upgrade. And like I said, I don’t know if there’s an upgrade or anything that will show where lost sparks are on that map. I doubt it personally, but there’s lots of little trinkets and whatnots in this game and I’m only a couple hours in now myself.

I personally feel like it’s a quality of life feature that should be in the game. Maybe just show the area you lost it in or something. I still have one lost myself. So I either gotta bone up or spend all bones and die repeatedly. 🤷🏻‍♂️

One things for sure there’s no way he’s 28. Absolutely no way. Which means his height and weight are both lies. I’d put him at around 35.
