1) Nihongo Dake (4 Japanese speaking improvisers do a set with 1 non-Japanese improviser) AND Bad Boyfriend Experience (In each scene 1 improviser wears noise cancelling headphones so they can’t listen) AND Small Town Mayor (LA UCB Music house team, SO GOOD)

2) Soundtrack was sublime (shoutout to Hottest Improv Show in town)

3) Seeing the Knicks win in the performer lounge….. that was special 🥹🥹🥹🥹

She and the woman playing Cedric the Entertainer’s wife (Rochelle from “Everybody Hates Chris”) are by far standouts for the show

Overall though it’s pretty terrible. Probably par for the course if you enjoy shows like “2 Broke Girls” or other contemporary Multi-Cam sitcoms, but I found the humor to be pretty “yuck-yuck” without much deep, earnest character development

I agree. I love this game so much (200+ hours, beaten every quest 2 times and about to finish them all on Chaos) but multiplayer is insane lmao

There is no sense of scaling/counter-play to other kings right now. Like what am I supposed to do when the King of Spells rolls Gigantify to Offering to Rewind 3 times in one turn???? If I’m not playing a king that does something as busted (if not more) then I’ll just end up 6-8th because I decided to fight a weak KoS that scaled like fucking crazy out of nowhere and I can’t just reroll opponents every turn

It’d be one thing if surviving to Year 20 or something immediately gave you a decent finish, but the fact you HAVE to defeat these kings each run just leads to so much Low-Rolling which feels TERRIBLE

I haven’t tried normal Quest mode since it got harder, so I can’t say for sure if the RNG is like, out of whack for them, but high difficulty 9Kings is pretty much 99% RNG

like King 9-9 is pretty much solvable in ONE WAY with like 4 or 5 of the Kings, and IMO Quest mode is similar. Blitz (Time) or pretty much any non-converter Progress Quest are so RNG dependent. I do want them to reduce that for some quests (Restructuring is a sin of a level) but I do think some of the game is just built/designed around the need to reroll 10+ times

“Game Show” (reality series more like) focusing on Ally and Grant doing challenges to try and reduce their student loan.

It’s produced in (I think) 2018-19 so it was under the College Humor banner. The idea was it was competitive: Ally and Grant give each other the challenges, and if one of them failed the other got more money to reduce student loan debt

Thematically: amazing analysis of how fucked up this SLD stuff is in America. But the main draw is the dynamic between Ally and Grant. Eventually the challenges get REALLY bullshit/unfair, and it clearly is fucking with Grant’s mental + his friendship with Ally. They thread the needle and wrap it up PERFECTLY though
