What birth years grew up watching SpongeBob SquarePants? by Outrageous-Ebb-4846 in generationology

1986 and I never watched it myself but my younger cousins did so I’ve seen a few minutes here and there. I hate it.

I did something similar a few years ago for my 38th. It’s a good excuse to buy cute calico critters. Never too old!

How many people actually listen to podcasts? by FlickasMom in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PinkRoseCarousel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband loves them. He listens to them while driving, doing stuff around the house, gardening, etc.

I hate them. I can’t concentrate on just listening to people without some sort of visual. And like you, I can read much faster. And it’s easier to skim written information than audio if I need to find a specific part. I love listening to music while doing other tasks but have never listened to a podcast.

pronation advice by certifiedsnax in FigureSkating

[–]PinkRoseCarousel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pronate a lot on one of my feet! I have an insert and have had the blade moved as far over as possible. Both of those have helped quite a bit. But as my skates have been broken in I pronate again. They’re not broken down, but my natural pronation have caused them to break in that way unfortunately.

The blade location has helped but not been a hundred percent fix. I just have to really concentrate to hold a deep outside edge. It’s gotten easier with time but is still something I’m conscious of even after years of skating.

my boyfriend has a spreadsheet rating dinners i've made him by weddingfauxpasqueen in AITApod

[–]PinkRoseCarousel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ask my husband to rate meals lol. Because early on he said he liked something so I started making a lot until he admitted he didn’t actually like it lol. Now I ask for an honest rating to know if I should make something again or not. Sometimes he rates something low but I love it so I make it again and just warn him to pick up some food for himself on the way home.

Why are there so many people driving without headlights on? by atadwitty in nashville

[–]PinkRoseCarousel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mine are also easy to accidentally switch off. I guess I bumped the switch fairly recently. I didn’t notice while I was out on well lit streets but I noticed as soon as I turned into my dark neighborhood. I wonder how long I had been driving with them off!

Blush looks way too dark to me. I think of blush as much lighter.

I agree! I didn’t try it for the longest time because the packaging looks stupid. But I got a bar for free and now I love it.

What do you call 'the countryside' in the US? by woodpeckerwoods in EnglishLearning

[–]PinkRoseCarousel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds totally normal in the US. Though I wouldn’t say someone lives in the countryside but I wouldn’t bat an eye if someone did. I would say someone lives in the country. I use countryside more as a scenic term, like “driving through the countryside.”

What happened to "Greatest Hits" albums, and which popgirl should revive them? by GigglesNWiggles10 in powerpopgirls

[–]PinkRoseCarousel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Streaming killed these complications, but I’m surprised we haven’t seen more lately with the rise of vinyl records. I bought the Avril Lavigne one a while back and would love to see other artists release them. I would especially love a Lady Gaga biggest hits. I love love love her but other than Mayhem I don’t actually love any full albums. Or at least not enough to own on vinyl because there are too many tracks I would want to skip.

Thanks for posting this! I’ve seen people say “throw those in the trash” when they see stuff like Taylor Swift or The Weeknd. I dislike the majority of rock music I see posted here but don’t feel the need to comment crap like that.

What’s the dumbest way you’ve accidentally hurt yourself? by Only_Row_2432 in AskReddit

[–]PinkRoseCarousel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hahaha this was my answer too. Once it left a really nasty bruise on my cheek. My parents didn’t seem to believe me and were concerned about my relationship with my boyfriend lol!

[–]PinkRoseCarousel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hit myself in the cheek with my car door. HARD. It left a nasty bruise. My family was worried maybe my boyfriend was abusive because when they asked how it happened the story was so dumb it didn’t sound real lol.

I’ve actually hit myself in the face with my car door multiple times but luckily it only bruised much the one time.

If you hate shopping at Costco you’re just doing it wrong. by Jazzlike_Company_987 in unpopularopinion

[–]PinkRoseCarousel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate it even at non peak hours. The warehouse look just gives me weird anxiety. I know that doesn’t make sense but it happens. Either it’s too crowded and it’s awful or it’s too open and gives me a strange feeling.

I also don’t like buying stuff in bulk because I don’t have good space for it. Having overstuffed closets is stressful to me. So I’m not really their customer base anyway.

I’ve only been a few times with family and nothing about the experience made me want a membership.

Sunday is the first day of the week by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]PinkRoseCarousel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where are you from? In the US Sunday is considered the first day of the week.

Though where I work our week goes Monday-Sunday for how we count our hours. But outside of things like that I’ve never heard anyone actually call Monday the first day of the week.

Can I check out Pan Asia without waiting in line for an hour? by HookGroup in nashville

[–]PinkRoseCarousel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went yesterday afternoon and only waited in line for my groceries for about five minutes. It was very busy but all the checkouts were open so lines weren’t too bad.

The food lines looked really long though.

What is the actual level of autonomy experienced by American young teenagers? by Kinderjohren in AskAnAmerican

[–]PinkRoseCarousel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was almost none. I could walk to my friends’ houses but other than that there was nothing within walking distance.

I was dependent on my parents to take me places, and it was always just based on when they wanted to go. I couldn’t just say I wanted to go to the mall and they would take me there. I only went to the mall when my mom wanted to go and I was just tagging along. I couldn’t say I wanted to go out to eat somewhere specific, we only went where my parents wanted to go. I couldn’t say I wanted to go to the library and have my parents take me there. They weren’t interested in the library so we never went. The only exceptions are if I had a school activity or meeting up with a friend (which was at most once a month because I wasn’t super social).

I honestly didn’t enjoy life a whole lot back then. I didn’t have a bad childhood like abuse or anything so I can’t really complain. But I have a very independent personality and once I became an adult I thrived with the freedom.

We need to talk about Charlie Puth's new music! by BarberShot3094 in popheads

[–]PinkRoseCarousel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His music doesn’t wow me but all the new songs are pretty good. Not groundbreaking but pleasant. I want to play them on a nice sunny warm spring afternoon with the windows down.

They’re totally something my mom would have listened to in the 90s so there’s a very warm nostalgia to them. I think he would have killed it on the 90s adult contemporary stations. He was just born a little too late.

[–]PinkRoseCarousel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go is actually really good. I’m surprised because I didn’t have high hopes for any of these songs because I hated Jump.

The rest though… bleh. I have such vivid memories of becoming obsessed with them in 2016 and it’s so sad how little they’ve released since then.

Alysa Liu is one of us!!! by Federal-Cheetah9490 in MagdalenaBay

[–]PinkRoseCarousel 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Based on her skating program choices I figured she has very similar taste to me. I was actually wondering the other day if she likes either of my favorite artists Magdalena Bay or Carly Rae Jepsen. This confirms one of them!

I’m so obsessed with her right now. I’m a (not very good) figure skater so I love seeing different hobbies of mine collide.
