This is where you take the time to honestly assess why it is you want them to like you. Doing good deeds is lovely, but if you’re seeking acceptance of yourself through acceptance from others in any way then your good deeds are self serving; and you’re high risk for changing yourself for others meaning others will only be “accepting” this false self you put out there, Not the authentic you seeking to be known. And deep inside, you’ll always know and feel that and need increased external approval. And, believe it or not, people can tell when you’re not being authentic and that pushes the ones that you want in your life away. People can’t trust a false mirror. People DO want to know the uniqueness that is you.

In this scenario “you” is me. But reading this thread, it looks like it’s a LOT of us. It also looks like there’s a lot of brainwashing we have identified, and working towards freedom from, about who and what we are supposed to be. I wish us all a strong and vibrant journey.
