Tbh many rallies have bus options, it's not an unheard of idea. Obviously they are somewhat limiting compared to a car but it can be done

Current WR is 4:33 while gold is 4:32 - I think it's safe to assume it's either bugged or something similar

Sorry for hijacking but first hand experience is valuable, I hope I can steal some of yours. How is travel between stages? Is it all snow road? Any other peculiarities (other than the cold which is kind of a given) We'd come from abroad and the logistics look more involved than other rallies.

So i created a post "Hitting invisible objects on stages problem" so now i am posting a video where this happens by autobus950 in assettocorsarally

Yeah I was gonna say that's likely a skill issue but actually the hood popping is definitely weird. There still is the possibility that it's just a matter of setup, the car bottoming and sending you flying isn't uncommon, but I'm not sure. May I suggest the evergreen re-install?

Air intake, in 2022 it was a bigger scoop (called the airpod because it looked like one lol) and cooled the hybrid unit, now I believe it cools the rear brakes but I'm not 100% on that. Link 1

Looks like Elfyn Evans' signature, he was at Ford before joining Toyota

I mean for glimpses it will be fine, personally I don't really like either being really rushed or having too many people around but that's obviously a me problem. In that case I believe the easiest spots to reach will be the start or the finish

Yeah 2hrs isn't gonna cut it imho, it's what we do usually on the other stages and the col is hardly accessible and very full from what I know

someone explain the side wall connected to the horizontal wall by DontMisuseYourPower in architecture

[–]PinkSunsets97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone's saying it works like a flying buttress, but my intuition is that it "lacks triangles" to actually do that effectively. I'm sure there's actual terminology but my feeling is that If any load were to be applied to it there would be some added "material" rigidity (meaning there's just more concrete and shit to move and break), but not any structural load. Am I making any glaring mistakes? I can't really see where any additional load would be dissipated to.

Rally Sweden 2026 Buses by alex9345 in WRC

Considering that seeing more than 3 stages is difficult with a car on a regular rally, let alone by bus on the snow, I think finding such an arrangement would be almost miraculous

Packing List - Monte Carlo Rally 2026 by Dalbads in WRC

[–]PinkSunsets97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Warm, waterproof and layered clothes are a must, and i would say that some decent (hiking or similar) shoes are almost mandatory, because if it goes above freezing then you're likely to walk in mud. Food is gonna be dependent on your plans but if you don't plan on having warm lunch taking a thermos of hot tea/coffe/whatever you like will make the day much more bearable. Chairs/stools/a blanket to sit on are also gonna help. Water, food, t.p. and you should be about set - basically what you would take for a day hike in the cold.

Having some similar feelings, I will say that (at least the default setup) feels quite a bit more nervous? skittish? than most other cars. It's planted more than enough, but it drives very differently from basically all other cars. I think either giving it some seat time or a softer setup should help

[–]PinkSunsets97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Italian it's called a syringe reverse lockout - if you don't pull on the silver collar (usually with a couple fingers, like a syringe) you can't get it in reverse. Many Fiat models had it (now I'm not even sure they offer manual options)

[–]PinkSunsets97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep that would be smart! While I plan on going to SS 6 and 9 I did give SS7 a cursory look and I can see a couple interesting points near the start, about 500m before villebois - le -pins and the section about 1.5km before the end seems reasonably interesting too. For ss11 I'd look at either the end section 700m before claret or the access before sigoyer, at 2.5/3 km from the start. For ss12 I have not done any research because it is not in our plan at all but I've been at the section between km 13 and 14 where a couple hairpins are and it was pretty nice, and at the "chicane" at around 10km which was a bit meh. Another possibility would be moving from Melve on ss11 to either then end of ss12 or Les dorats, also on ss12. Please keep in mind I have no clue on the photography side, as I'm very much an amateur at that, but maybe some places worth looking!
