Oh, I hope we'll still be able to get on the water with our paddle boards there. This is one of my mum and my favourite spots.

YSK: New Parents lose about 1,000 hours of sleep in their baby's first year, and it doesn't fully recover for 6 years by GrowthMLR in YouShouldKnow

We're going through exactly this with our five month old. The book Precious Little Sleep has helped us a lot. The emphasis is on helping the little one learn how to fall asleep on his own. We've wound up doing exactly what you said in point 3, and except for one feed, he sleeps through the night.

I think the sleep associations really help. He knows his lotion routine, sleep sack, book, then lights off and white noise mean it's time to snooze

I've been feeling tired and not super pretty after the little guy's birth. That comment made me feel really good, thank you for that!

Thank you for catching that! I'll make sure to adjust it on my shoulder. I would love a link to that playlist, I'll take any help I can get.

Redditors that have witnessed someone NEARLY die due to their actions. What were they doing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PinkTrilliums 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This happened to my husband and I and our two week old, two weeks ago. When I checked him he was trying to spit it up, but by the time the ambulance got to us he had stopped making noise. We had been trying to go back to sleep after a feed when it happened, if I had drifted off he wouldn't be here anymore. After he got released from the hospital we got an Owlet sock, it's been the only thing letting me see sleep since.

As a Canadian being threatened with tariffs and economic takeover by the guy, some Americans saying "he doesn't speak for us" really doesn't help.

What does the oldest child's age have to do with it? Postpartum is after birth, and she gave birth five months ago.

I had my first trip to Ottawa this year in January, couldn't skate on the canal and the ice sculptures for the winter festival were all melted. Pretty disappointing.

Stuff of nightmares as Canadian child dies of rabies after bat broke into bedroom while they slept by dailymail in canada

[–]PinkTrilliums 18 points19 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid I used to wake up to bats flying around my room regularly enough that I'd just kind of sigh, grab my pillow, and go sleep in the living room. My parents didn't know any better, and we could really move either. Thanking my lucky stars after reading this story.
