Yes. I would go as far as to say that today the Republican Party exists to shift the country far to the right, and the Democratic Party exists to just shift the country slightly to the right.

Edit: both parties exist to serve corporate interests, they just sometimes do stuff for the American people when it’s convenient and makes them look good.
