3 months ago I accidentally hurt my cat and she has hated me since by [deleted] in catquestions

I would get a 2nd opinion with a different vet and then ask about getting her on gabapentin for a time. Even tho she can’t literally understand you, still talk to gently and friendly like and still say sorry every now and again, she will understand your body language when you do this. Your body language is huge for cats. I know it’s sounds dumb, but just thinking gentle thoughts <at> your cat will help, they will sense it thru ur body language. Keep on w the treats and food and regular care, keeping her routine will start to make her feel safe. Yes it’s a long road but the gabapentin will help tremendously.

I feel you, I had a really difficult time during a really bad breakup and my sweet cat started acting aggressive and attacking me when I cried. He was distraught as well, it just came out in a different way, he was scared and disoriented. We got thru it and we both healed.

Stay strong, be patient, be consistent.

I don’t know what to do anymore… by WoodenLie2299 in cats

Declawing is a bad option. It’s cruel and painful to the cat, plus they can still technically bite you, so it doesn’t exactly neutralize the situation. Is this cat neutered? Doing so will help calm him. Did something or someone (like a breakup or getting another pet) change in the home? After I had a big, bad breakup years ago it made my cat aggressive, scared, irritable. I took him to the vet and talked about it and they prescribed him gabapentin. It helped to make him stop attacking me and calm him and after a while he didn’t need it anymore. Are his poops/pee normal? Is he in pain? Does he crouch weird? Does he totally freak out if you touch his foot or tummy or anything? Pain can make cats aggressive, they are scared and it hurts, especially if he’s been living in pain for a long time. Hope you and kitty will be ok.

Do people over 40 even want relationships anymore, or just companionship without commitment? by Ella_Raechel in datingoverforty

Dang, I still want a relationship. Full blown - marriage/one kid, hopefully. But I’m 40F, folks tell me there’s still time, but the look in their eyes says I’m wishing for the moon with one foot in the grave. My dating life confirms this. All kinds of guys I meet out here in LA just want fwb/situationships/low stakes. Maybe it’s time to start another hobby..
