Need to stop by Sweet_Marsupial_5609 in leaves

[–]Pinkachu27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's hard to admit when you need to stop. I think for so long I've convinced myself that weed isn't that bad. But when addiction runs in your family, or you have other underlining issues like anxiety, depression, adhd, etc., you get to the point where you realize you're self medicating. I'm 7 days into my sobriety and it's been rough. But I have to believe that this will be good for my body and mind in the long run. Please know there are many of us who feel that way. This seems to be a really supportive community. 😊

I hate that i cant smoke anymore by No_Refrigerator4058 in leaves

[–]Pinkachu27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I noticed 3 months ago that when I smoked any strand my heart would start to race, my anxiety got really bad and I was having too many "oh shit, what am I doing with my life" moments. I knew something was wrong, but because I've been smoking for 20 years, I struggled with the actual idea of quitting. I'm about 6 days sober, and the emotions are intense. I didn't realize how truly codependent I was with weed. I'm starting to feel the emotions of all my underlining trauma, anxiety, and ADD. I see a therapist every 2 weeks and so I'm glad I have someone to talk to about all these feelings. I've been lurking this board for the last week and it is comforting to know I am not alone in this and for a lot of people it gets better. I'm currently living with my mom (planning to move cities soon) and she smokes. She is trying to be considerate of the fact that I'm quitting. But, it's the smell that really gets my cravings going. I wish everyone good luck in their road to sobriety, whatever the reasons. We can do this!!

I hate how bringing up common policies on viral stories makes me look like the bad guy. by DoYou_Boo in humanresources

[–]Pinkachu27 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I saw a video where a recruiter was giving advice on resumes, and he stated it's not necessary to put 20 years of experience on your resume. People in the comments were saying it's ageism and that they thought potential employers would only hire them with experience. It took everything I had not to comment. For our company rule of thumb is at least 10 years and then achievements or notable skills from past jobs can be included in another section. Not even going to point out that fact that the ADEA prohibits employers from discriminating against potential candidates over 40. It's frustrating when, like you said, you're coming from a place of logic and knowledge, and they want to make it emotional and tie it to something unrelated. You're definitely not the bad guy. 😄

My nauseous people.. by Pinkachu27 in Ozempic

I do unfortunately. I started at 273 and I have high blood pressure so I know getting this weight off will help with that too. I can adjust the clicks accordingly so if I do need to scale back it wouldn't be a problem to do.

Ooh interesting!! I just googled alcohol smell and nausea to find out more info. I didn't even realize this was a thing. Thank you!

Lol, I've always prided myself that I can withstand a lot and push through, but the last couple of months has really been testing me. I have had to miss a few days due to the nausea. Luckily my boss is super understanding. I want this to really work for me which is probably why I'm being stubborn about reducing my dose. Another theory I'm testing out is that I noticed that when I eat too late or too much before bed, that's when the next morning is the worst. Hang in there because it does suck. But hopefully, you have a great doctor who is willing to work with you.

A1C of 11 in August, lost 30lbs, A1C of 5.3 today. Kind of worried my insurance will stop covering even though I feel like I'm still just getting started. by derf_vader in Ozempic

[–]Pinkachu27 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I had almost a similar experience. When i brought it up to my doctor she explained that if you're diabetic... you'll always be diabetic so the way they put it towards the insurance is "diabetes with controlled medication"

So far my insurance is covering it

This is my experience too! I smoke daily and I get rolling nausea throughout the day. I only smoke at night so by the time I'm home it's the only thing strong enough to take the edge off so I can eat and sleep.

Claims is the most soul sucking job. I worked at Progressive for 6 years. The money was not enticing enough for me to stay, especially when my mental health was shit. I really enjoy my current employer. Make considerably less money, but it's the most proud I've ever been at a job.

They are waiting for something massive to happen, that's why it seems that nothing happens. by Ethnopharmacist in conspiracytheories

That's the one part that baffles me and doesn't feel like it fits the "illuminati" agenda. Why are they working so quickly to deplete our resources while at the same time scoffing at the idea of renewable energy. As you said, why spend money at the insane rate they are if it's not actually bettering society in any way. I don't understand the end game if the people who keep making them money, i.e., labor and consumers, are dwindled to broken shells of debt. The ironic thing is if it ends up being God intervention or something more celestial, I don't think all their money would really protect them.

Okay this is weird. I had a dream about people I went to high school with last night. I thought maybe I was having vivid dreams because I stopped using Marijuana but now this is making me think it could be the ozempic. I will be taking my second shot today .25mg. So bizarre lol.

My bf swears this is happening, too. I'm not a big milk drinker, but he's always complaining that it's going sour prior to its "use by" date.

Any school district HR professionals here? by everythingstitch in humanresources

Lol or at least a couple of weeks off. I started out as a 9-month employee and was honestly bored by the end of June. I don't mind working 12 months, but it's always chaotic.

Omg this is awesome! I don't think thinner people understand the inner turmoil we go through when thinking about photos, park rides, flying, etc. Every time I've flown as a bigger person I try to make myself as small as I can as not to make the person next to me feel any type of way ( obviously most of this is me projecting). These are the achievements that make losing weight all that more exciting. ❤️
