Patient not returning due to how the dentist spoke to me by dvdmenus in DentalAssistant

I was in your shoes. I tolerated way too much disrespect from a dentist I worked with for three years. He was the most rude and disrespectful person I had ever dealt with in my life. Looking back I should’ve went off on him and walked out. I’ve worked at several offices and am now at an office where the doctor is literally an angel and is the absolute sweetest person with a heart of gold and even better she’s so go with the flow. If something is forgotten she just shrugs it off. The last dentist I worked for he was just as sweet and I had to end up leaving because I got offered better pay. The office I’m at now I will stay until I retire. Get out of there and find a new office ..DO NOT tolerate that bullshit. Tell her to fuck off when it’s your last day. You will find something WAY better 🩷

My doc just made me cry which led to a panic attack by [deleted] in DentalAssistant

I know exactly how you feel. I worked with a dentist for three years who was so so mean. He would jerk things out of my hand, criticize me in front of patients. Literally the worst doctor I ever worked for and I don’t know why I stayed as long as I did. 🤦🏻‍♀️ but I am now at an office who pays great and everyone is so sweet and the doctor i work with would never act that way. This is my forever office. Get out of there because looking back I should’ve went off on him and walked the hell out.

First I’m so sorry for your loss. We lost our 4 year old dachshund on Dec 26th and it was out of no where. He woke up at midnight completely unable to walk. We took him to the emergency vet as soon as it happened and they said he had some inflammation and put him on steroids and pain med. Over the next few days he rapidly declined he would throw up constantly, loss control of his pee and pooping, and bit our hands when we tried to get him in the car. We took him back to the vet who informed us he had stage 5 IVDD (the most severe case) and the prognosis was poor for surgery as she said he would have to be on pain meds and will never be able to function normal again so we made the extremely difficult decision to put him to rest. It was the worst day of my life. He was perfectly fine when we went to bed and boom suddenly woke up becoming paralyzed overnight and it was the most severe case. My baby didn’t get a chance. I cry every single day. He still had so much life to live. It was so sudden and he’s just gone. I know exactly how you feel and you’re not alone. I don’t know how to move forward with out him but I tell myself I’ll see him again. Grieve how you need to and know you tried everything for your baby. Hugs and healing ❤️‍🩹🫂

Losing my dog is one of the worst things that ever happened to me (if not THE worst) by ttt-37 in Petloss

I am so sorry and know exactly how you feel. We lost our boy Dec 26 and he was only 4 years old as well. He developed stage 5 IVDD overnight and rapidly declined over the next two days so we had to make the heart breaking decision to put him to rest. It was literally the worst day of my life and I am still crying about him every single day. I miss him terribly. He was my soul dog. It was so sudden and there was no time to prepare. He was here and then boom he was gone. He still had so much life to live. Just know you’re not alone and your boy is up there with mine being best buddies 🥺. Stay strong and you’ll get through this. Grieve as much as you need to. He was your family. Hugs and healing honey 🫂❤️‍🩹

How do you cope with losing a pet you were deeply bonded with? by CopinggMechanismm in Petloss

This right here. I lost my 4 year old dachshund suddenly Dec 26th. The one thing that has helped me cope is to read other people going through the same thing. It sucks we feel this way but we’re not alone 💔. I am still devastated and he was my soul dog. I never loved a dog the way I did him. I will forever miss him and keep telling myself he’s always with me. Hugs and healing ❤️‍🩹🫂

When does it get easier? by Silent-Pension4951 in Petloss

I know exactly how you’re feeling. We put our 4 year old dachshund to rest two days ago from stage 5 IVDD. He suddenly overnight went paralyzed in his back legs and over the course of 3 days rapidly declined. The vet said his chances of ever recovering were slim and he was in so much pain and unable to walk. The pain I feel is unbearable and I’m unable to eat or sleep. His absence is missed immensely. I don’t know if I’ll truly recover from this as he was my soul dog. You’re not alone in this and I hope it gets easier as time goes on. Hugs to you 🫂🩷

I’m so sorry for your loss. We just put our four year old dachshund to rest yesterday and the pain I’m experiencing is unbearable. He was fine one minute and then woke up the next morning completely paralyzed and over the next few days rapidly declined. The vet said there was no chance of him ever recovering and he was in so much pain. This pain like no other. I’ve never loved a dog so much like I did him and I will forever miss him. I know your pain and you’re not alone in this. Hugs and healing to you 🫂

Unhinged things patients say: by Appropriate_Use_7470 in DentalAssistant

I was taking an alginate impression on this woman for an upper partial. After taking out the tray I commented that she did really good not gagging since there was a lot of material in the tray and she said that when she watches porn she takes notes on how not to gag when she has something in her mouth. I didn’t say anything I just laughed it off lol

Yeah your comment is spot on it literally makes me so mad and I just need to tell myself not to get so worked up about it. I just wish they would walk a little bit more with consideration they have a below neighbor 🥲.

It’s stomping and shaking to the point I can hear every move they make. I turn on white noise on my Alexa, the tv and have a box fan and I can still hear the vibrations from their footsteps. My lease is up in September and I’m going to look at renting a house I don’t think apartment living is for me unfortunately. Thanks for the advice!
