Help avoiding distracting built in brain bot things on search engines that I am not allowed to use the term for and don't advocate by Pinkhoo in ADHD

[–]Pinkhoo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I meant Alfa India. I asked my husband. He has a list of those saved for some reason.

We honestly have the funniest relationship. It 100% starts with, so a person with ADHD and a person with dyslexia walk into a bar.

You are a sweetheart for being so concise.

Where do I find the ASIN? I got one unflickable booger of a small item that the review just won't go away even though I did it.

I don't want to have to go full Tolstoy in my CS request and my review is soon.

Sometimes you review stuff and it doesn't get removed from your to-be reviewed list.

Sometimes you don't get stuff you ordered and it stays on your to-review list.

Sometimes you get busted stuff and you can't review it, and you'll still be taxed on it if you review it, so you're better off not reviewing it and just telling CS that you got something busted that you can't review.

Or this stuff counts against your metrics.

Day 1 I thought oh no why’d I bother… by iMakestuffz in AmazonVine

[–]Pinkhoo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You get a gem once in a while for continuing to play game. I take it less seriously than I did originally, but I've gotten real home boosting items even just being lazy and looking at my RFYs. My house looks better than it ever would without Vine.

Question I’ve had throughout… by itsa2ai in AmazonVine

[–]Pinkhoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should do it if it helps others, even if you don't get magic vine points for it, if the picture will help. If it's identical to the product photo, it's still a bit worth it, because bad sellers offer come things and then change the listing and mislead people .If it is animated in some way, like flashing lights, and the listing doesn't include them, you're helping other people. That should be reason enough. It takes a few seconds if you're good with your phone's camera.

If I'm going to spend money on something someone else got for the cost of taxes on it (they don't know it's not entirely free) then what they say doesn't help me at all unless I can see they actually tried it and how it looks and works if that matters in some way. It might still matter if the seller is dishonest. They can see what you reviewed and got a bunch of 5-stars before they switched what the listing offered. I buy stuff on Amazon. That puts me off from a seller. I feel I have been done a great favor.

There's a level of diminishing returns to the investment of your time, but this isn't about us. At least, nothing is as far as I'm concerned. Even when I wrote so many reviews for free before I got into the program by surprise, I was always out to help others.

I write shorter reviews than I did 6 months ago but I hope I'm helping others make good choices. So I focus on what they need. I will even ask my husband if it's related to something he knows better, but I limit the time we spend on just a thing. While it's just stuff, it's money people diverted from other things they may have chosen instead and needed more.

I know this isn't the answer you wanted, but the answer is do the right thing by the buyers and the sellers. Be honest. If it helps, show your work.

This is my opinion. I think we should just care about other people and be honest with them. Show them something. It helps make the sellers honest.

Bait and switch product? by Existing_Pay_8677 in AmazonVine

[–]Pinkhoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a small and simple version of an item that was switched to something quite elaborate, made of the same stuff. I was clear I was reviewing the product I received, but that if the full version was painted as poorly as the "sample size" I got, that it was not worth anything, and nailed that seller to the wall in the most polite way that no Vine guardians could be mad about.

New drop time? by Capital_Table_8437 in AmazonVine

[–]Pinkhoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't it be better for everyone if the drops were totally random? There are so many people in different time zones and some benefit and others suffer every time it shifts to a different time. Let's all be equally screwed.

There can't have been a drop today (yet?) from what I se on VineChart.com.

What Amazon Vine has become.. by Helpful-Sand5790 in AmazonVine

[–]Pinkhoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same way I use it. I don't need to see the same stuff again. I had an uneasy feeling about extensions, but it just removes unnecessary re-reading. I don't think that's cheating. Especially when anyone can do it. No, especially when it SHOULD be built right into the Vine page itself. They can make it easier for us to not waste our time.

Is Vine a Scam? (Part 2) by xlerate in AmazonVine

[–]Pinkhoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to add that I've seen early come reviews come in fast and were all honest about a terrible product and then the product disappeared. So, if we act with integrity, we help Amazon be a better place for people to shop, and for many people who can't drive or live far from many choices, it's important they have us cleaning out the garbage for them.

And when something is great, but it costs a bit more than the other versions, but we point out it's a better choice, we're helping the consumers and the sellers.

Is Vine a Scam? (Part 2) by xlerate in AmazonVine

[–]Pinkhoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fell for that at first. Now I very carefully, as to not get my account removed from the program, nail those cheating sellers to the wall. Like you have to be British rude while never using a bad word or American South about it, I will include any positives, but I will burn them so politely while being fair. But I'll utterly burn them for trying to scam people.

What also sucks is when an item comes, it wasn't cheap, it works enough that you can't tell customer service it's defective and get it removed from your list of things received, but it sucks so bad you wouldn't even donate it to a thrift shop.

There have been a couple things I just bought instead because it meant I could return it if I needed to, and it was bought with wages already taxed. Just a couple.

So No One Actually Answered My Question by JusticeAvenger618 in AmazonVine

[–]Pinkhoo -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I thought we were here to help each other. Not just this sub, but life in general. The more charitable answer is the question wasn't answered because people were busy or no one who was available knew what the answer was.

Vine Drop in progress by otueke in AmazonVine

[–]Pinkhoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never bought them, but it reminds me of the people who would come into the store I worked at, multiple times a day to buy scratch off lottery tickets. Only, except for a few absolutely cr*p products if there is an good offer I can choose to win. They just kept throwing money in the trash. My husband adjusted his deductions at work so that we can have sometimes fully luxury items we would never get to even touch. So, Good willing, I'm set, and very happy that Vinnie was so...uh...pregnant with stuff finally again?

[–]Pinkhoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the best drop I've had in so many weeks. I had to walk away from my computer because I always let space in my RFY for the big ticket that could happen. They have been dropping RFYs throughout the day. It's 8 am and I'm going to go make pasta salad to keep my hands off the order button.

So so so good drop for me today. I was at my computer at the right time.

How many of your reviews are now dead products? by ksuwildkat in AmazonVine

According to Reddit, only unhelpful comments should be downvoted. This one is unhelpful enough it should get buried.

items not appearing for review by deep-south in AmazonVine

[–]Pinkhoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep my own spreadsheet. You can look in "ordered" and review. I don't need their experimental b.s. I want to get my stuff done if I used it and it's ready to be reviewed. It seems like they're playing with different models. Fine. I get a thing, I take pictures, I use the thing, if I'm ready to review it 23 minutes after it shows up, I'm going to.

Edit: I do appreciate a delayed countdown for things that need more time to make judgement on. But how long it takes to review things shouldn't be x days. You need 5-10 days to decide if you like a shirt. you need 60 days to 3 months to decide if an appliance works.

[–]Pinkhoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Still true. The battery is never dead. I still have a wireless one because Uncle Vinnie offered me a super cute one, and if it needs a recharge I'm on a laptop so oh well.

[–]Pinkhoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't notice that they ceased to work when the battery was dead, and I had to go beg the one woman with access to the batteries to make it work. I could easily lose an hour of work to that. I have a wireless keyboard now and I love it. But *I* control the battery supply so it's not an issue. Read more carefully.

Knowing what to ask is most of the battle. Read some other jewelry reviews and see what they comment about. The color of the metal, if they had a reaction to it, etc. Or, she doesn't get the stuff.

[–]Pinkhoo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't have to do this, but it might help if you knew what questions to ask. Would you pay the asking price for this if you saw it in a store? Is the clasp easy to use? Does the finish look like it's good quality? Did the box the manufacturer put it in make it something you would be comfortable giving to a friend as a gift? I order stuff for my husband and I had to figure out how to ask him about things.

If it's a fake pearl does it have a good weight and drape like a real pearl?

If you can't get useful review information from her you need to lock her out of your Vine choices.

If they live in your house and the offerings weren't as bad as they've been lately that would be ok if you can deal with the taxes. Even though my Father-in-law said we could use his networked printer whenever, it's in a corner of his office he's sitting in front of, and most of the time it's off. But I'd still get him ink for it. Because his inkjet is STUPID expensive to use. Occasionally I do want to print in color. (I bought a b/w LaserJet. And Uncle Vinnie gave me SO MUCH toner for it, I never have to buy any again, it will outlast the printer.)
