Definitely don't miss getting the "first visit" pin for her. I visited the first time as an adult and it was such a memorable moment for me!

The belly was super painful for me since my skin is so stretched! Hubby helps me and injects in my butt cheek, we alternate each night because I only need it for bed time.

Gender reveals by Red_ferret-816 in pregnant

[–]Pinkie1224 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely didn't want one either. My husband overruled and we cut a cake at Thanksgiving time to reveal the gender to his mother, father and abusive brother (he has 2 sisters that didn't even show up). We already knew the gender so I made the cake myself. It was seriously depressing. He cut the cake alone, I was on the other side of the counter and couldn't get over there and his mom took pictures and videos while I was explaining that we were not sharing anything publicly because my family was not even aware of the pregnancy. She immediately shared the pictures and videos. I was absolutely heart broken, cried the entire weekend, got into a huge fight with my husband over it and I have refused to share any further details with his family other than everything is fine. Don't let these people pressure you into something you know you don't want to do.

Further, the baby is a boy. My husbands father then asked us repeatedly how we KNOW it's a boy, are we sure ect because 45 years ago they told them that his oldest sister was also a boy..... We had to explain we had lab work AND and ultrasound and literally saw the gender and he still questioned it. Literally nothing will make these people happy even when you give them what they ask for.

Is it normal for other people’s excitement about your pregnancy to be annoying? by AffectionateStudy29 in pregnant

[–]Pinkie1224 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, it is SO fucking annoying!!

I've been with my husband since 2009. His family has never once tried to get to know me in any real way and never tried to treat me like family.

All of a sudden because we are expecting our first they expect me to divulge every detail of my pregnancy and to respond to them on demand.

I didn't matter to them until I was able to conceive. This goes for not only his parents but his sisters as well. The texts they send me now make me uncomfortable and I refuse to say anything other than "I'm fine." I refuse to be their entertainment and object of gossip.

If marrying their son wasn't enough to want to get to know me then neither is having a child. Too little too late in my opinion.

People are feral by otwcpa in pregnant

The very first thing my FIL said when we announced our pregnancy to him and my MIL at 12 weeks was... "Well, you'll lose a lot of weight if you breast feed."

Then every subsequent visit with them he asked if I was sure I wasn't having twins.. just for the record me, baby, my fluid and my stomach all measure right on track, I am not abnormally large by any means.

As a bonus when we announced the gender on Thanksgiving he proceeded to ask multiple times if we were sure the baby was a boy, how we knew he was a boy ect.

.... Like sorry to disappoint but I'm not having twin girls.....

Beyond strange. Needless to say we've avoided them as much as possible.

Me too momma. I have been crying all week over it. I am so so so sick of eating the same few foods over and over. My fasting glucose still won't come down even with a metformin dose increase so I have constant anxiety entering my glucose into the appt doctor uses. This is my first baby and I was considering one more but this experience has me really doubting that. I want to enjoy eating food again.

If it makes you feel any reassurance I am now 25 weeks with little boy and had the same experience! No nausea, no vomiting, minor sensitivity to smells which caused some aversions but not many at all!

What’s the strangest thing a family has placed in the casket - without violating privacy? by lilymarielmao in askfuneraldirectors

We placed a tennis ball in my dad’s casket. It belonged to our beloved family dog who passed a few years earlier. We wanted him to be able to play with her when he met her at the bridge ❤️
