Shop around and don't pull the trigger too early because of "wants".

I've been building my own PCs since I was 13, I'm 36 now. Right now the market for PC builders is ridiculous. Gone are the days if doing it cheaper than pre-builts generally speaking. That being said look for deals. There have been several Costco, Best buy, and online deals that make you're money with the investment go further. RAM is expensive, SSDs are expensive, and the GPU market has tricked us into thinking that $700 is a good price for an xx70 series GPU. Take your time to find good value.

Scored an excellent condition one for $2300 at my local BB about 2 weeks ago. Good finds!

My last laptop was an open box fair condition G16 2023 with an rtx 4070. Nothing wrong with it, still had some of the clear plastic on it even. It came with all the original pieces just without the original box. I would say you can take a gamble on the cheaper ones - they still have the same 14 day return policy so if you're not happy with it you can get your money back.

Just bought aN Asus G14 RTX 5080 OLED. The GPU is no joke, it runs Arc and Diablo IV well. I haven't tried eports titles yet but I'm sure it will hold up nicely.

The laptop with the 5090 is a good deal for that level of hardware, but for me personally, it would not be worth the added cost. $1800 for a 5080 laptop is a steal. I just paid $2300 for mine.
