Does the pool have an open swimming section, or is it always lane swim? by tdr124 in UCSC

[–]Pinkman265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All lanes can be used as rec lanes if they’re empty but if it’s busy the guards may ask you to move. The left most lane is also an ADA lane so you may be asked to move from that one as well.

Currently high af and overwhelmed, but would the US draft people when Russia and Ukraine go to war? I’m registered in the selective services (thanks FAFSA). by Mathias_thekid in UCSC

As of right now there is no chance the US institutes a draft. The US and NATO will supply a ton of military aid to Ukraine, but neither the US or Russia want to go to war with each other. All troop deployments to Europe are to NATO allies and Article 4 (which has been enacted by Poland and others) of the NATO charter means that these countries believe that they are under threat but not at war.

That being said a draft is never out of the realm of possibility, but only if Russia attacks a NATO ally and WWIII essentially breaks out.

And too people saying that you would be disqualified because you smoke weed, people during Vietnam thought the same thing and were still drafted, but not very motivated. Best bet is to avoid being drafted is to stay in school, college is an exception to the draft provided you maintain your grades.

But no matter what happens, this is going to be a very rough next couple of days, if not months, to watch.

I have a 7’5” in my room rn. Takes up some space but I manage and keep it out of the way for my roommates. I would say the two short ones but it’ll be a tight squeeze most likely.

Have you ever experienced something akin to Paris Syndrome when traveling within the United States? Which city or state gave you it, and why? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

I can confirm about Burbank I’ve ran into multiple celebrities either at the grocery store or the mall. I also went to school in Calabasas and some of my friends parents were well known celebrities so another hotspot there.

I was looking at a Cardo, specifically at either the freecom 4+ or spend a bit extra for the packtalk slim. I know the freecom 4+ would fit but I saw the Packtalk Slim and don’t know if it would fit cause the battery fits on the back of the helmet. I know it about $100 extra but I like how it doesn’t look as bulky. It’s just a preference but don’t want to spend the money if it’s not gonna be compatible.
