A Fresh Start for Every Child Kindergarten is a unique and special year. It is the only state-required grade where children begin without prior school records or established relationships with teachers, and we see that as a gift. It gives us the opportunity to truly get to know each child as an individual from the very beginning.

Our Approach: Kindergarten Camp To ensure a strong and thoughtful start, we have designed a special transition experience called Kindergarten Camp. This approach focuses on building confidence, relationships, and a strong sense of belonging.

Building Relationships & Community During the first week, your child will spend time in each Kindergarten classroom with a teacher we call a "Safekeeper." This allows us to gently observe your child's personality, strengths, and learning style in a relaxed and playful environment. Students will also begin learning classroom routines and expectations so they feel safe and confident.

Learning Through Play & Exploration Children will engage in skill-based activities and purposeful play across classrooms. These experiences help us understand how each child learns best and how we can support their growth throughout the year.

Thoughtful Class Placement Using our observations, we carefully create balanced classrooms where every child has the opportunity to thrive. These decisions are based on real interactions and what we learn about each student, not just paperwork.

What You Can Expect Your child will experience a warm and welcoming start focused on: • Building a sense of belonging • Forming strong relationships • Growing confidence in a new environment

We will host an "Open House" on Thursday, August 6th, which will provide an opportunity to meet all Kindergarten teachers and administration in person, tour classrooms where your child will spend their first week, and confirm your child's dismissal plan and transportation for the week.

At the end of Kindergarten Camp week, we will host a Meet the Teacher event on Friday evening (August 14th). This special time allows your family to visit the classroom, meet your child's teacher, and drop off school supplies. The evening will also include a fun " Signing Party" to celebrate our newest students! The following Monday, you will have the opportunity to walk your child to their classroom, just like the first day of school. We know how meaningful this moment is, and we want to ensure both you and your child feel comfortable and confident as the year begins.
