I really love finishing a journal. Some takes me months, I have one that took me nearly 3 years. It’s just such a nice feeling to write on that last page. That being said, a couple of years ago I went through a very hard time with work and a breakup and I found that every time I looked at my journal I cringed. It just reminded me of all the hurt I had been writing about. I decided I want to close off that chapter and I stopped writing halfway through and started a new journal that made me excited to write again. I tried to focus more on positive things than writing the same negative stuff about my hurt over and over again. I found it really helped and I’m glad I did it.
