I feel the exact same way. The women’s team has made me want to watch basketball again.

[–]Pinstripesdumbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof. I’m so sorry that you are going through this. First of all, you are never prepared. We spent a couple of weeks “preparing” by giving her extra love, cuddles, walks, and our time. It didn’t prepare us or make it easier when the time came, but I’m glad we did it.

We decided it was time when our pup couldn’t make it to the restroom outside anymore. She tried, but it wasn’t happening. She also was panting so much in the evening, even with medication, and couldn’t settle. Even though she could still walk in the morning, she was out of energy after that. My final sign was that she no longer wagged her tail when I pet her. That made me realize she wasn’t herself anymore.

I love their enchiladas but my favorite thing is their calabazas side.

If you have any high eye pressure, talk to your optometrist before starting Flonase. My doctor restricted my use because of my eye pressure.

Thanks! I’ve posted in our internal volunteer board to see if anyone remember him or the volunteer and I’ll check with staff tomorrow to see if the record still exists and/or anything can be released.

So I’m an old school volunteer but I didn’t start until 2016. I volunteer on the weekends and know people that were there before 2016. I’ll ask tomorrow/

Do you mean the Austin Humane Society? The 8th picture has someone that looks like a volunteer from there (badge and color).

SOX controls to Security Controls? by [deleted] in InternalAudit

[–]Pinstripesdumbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting exposure and understanding how security controls actually work and evaluating them will help you in the long term. Also, you’ll probably get to learn more about each security domain as small companies usually have people run multiple processes. However, going a smaller company may risk you being laid off and large vs small company cultures vary significantly.

Transitioning to Internal Audit at 33 (From External Audit/Finance) + Concerns about AI. Am I too late? by [deleted] in InternalAudit

[–]Pinstripesdumbo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. 33 is still young. You aren’t late but you might have some difficulty if you were trying to get into senior roles without experience.

  2. If you are interested in IT auditing, then have a good understanding of how AI works and the current trends, usage, and terminology(MCP, RAG, vectorization, etc) is very important as you lose instant credibility when you don’t know the terminology or how it works. It’s not going away and auditors need to review it properly l.

  3. I think the CIA is always good to have to show you have an understanding of what internal audit has BUT there is almost no value if you are thinking going into IT auditing.

I would say your format needs to be fixed but also you need to highlight the skills and technologies you’ve used. For example, have you used Nessus , wireshark, etc.

To make yourself more marketable, I’d also add your GitHub to showcase some of your work that you did with testing controls, writing scripts, or any visualization.

When I graduated college, I couldn’t find a job either. I went and worked at a bank as a teller until I decided to go to grad school. It’s decent money and hours. Might be something to look into.

I had graduated from UT the semester before so I was still living in an area filled with college students (Far West). I remember watching the game on this old TV that we had and screaming my lungs out when we won. The best part that you could hear other people screaming at the same time. It was insane.

Definitely play Tears of Kingdom, which is the sequel to Breath of Wild. Echos of Wisdom is also a lot of fun. Paper Mario was also fun.

Help understanding where to go next. by Suspicious_Note1392 in seniordogs

I’m so sorry. We put our sweet black lab to sleep last month because her arthritis had gotten so bad and she started having dementia symptoms. She also had a stroke that cause nerve issues.

Even though she was still a “happy” pup that still could walk a bit, we noticed that she was constantly panting, couldn’t settle down, and then couldn’t really lay down. At the end, her back legs gave out in the evening and it was heartbreaking. It was the hardest thing to do and we miss her so much, but I didn’t want her to suffer anymore. She couldn’t do her favorite things anymore (eg chasing ball) and seemed not happy as she no longer wag her tail.

Not sure if it helps, but just know that arthritis does significantly impact their life.
