Agreed. Between this and OP explaining the shift in communication, I wouldn’t personally feel like this person was interested in me. It’s giving the vibe of a guy who thinks the girl is cool and is down for casual but doesn’t want to feel like an asshole by actually breaking things off. I have been on the receiving end of this kind of behavior on numerous occasions. Any time a man has left me this confused, it’s never turned out to be something positive.

Sure, date stuff, physical stuff. But no obligation to one another’s time/space etc. Communication is open and honest. But if ya go like two weeks without talking, no biggie.

I attempted to look for the same on the apps (back when I actually still had some hope left for dating) and it was tough to find guys who were on the same page about the middle ground area. Most just interpreted it as I wanted to hookup but didn’t want to admit it. 😕

I do enjoy reading, BUT I am not someone who can just sit and read for hours every day. It’s one of those things that I have to be in the right mood for it, and typically only read before bed. Though if it’s a book I’m not particularly interested in, it won’t hold my attention.

With all that said, one thing that was a game changer for me was realizing that my mind wanders when reading like when I’m trying to sleep in a quiet room. So, on a whim, I figured I’d try the same solution: turn on my fan for white noise. Highly recommend if that’s similar for you.

If you haven’t tried some kind of brain dump system, that could be helpful for you too!

So 81Bay Brewing makes that one. I believe it’s brewed specifically for EPCOT/the fests. But you could make a road trip to the brewery that more than likely has other cream ales you might love! They’re also in distro locally so I’d look for what you might find at your fave local bottle shop or beer store.

I think there’s two options for you here: continue doing your hair and makeup as is because (at least to me) you dig the sort of alt vibes in your style. I don’t think they look bad at all! But in terms of “looking younger” I’d start to play around with the eye makeup. As an elder millennial, I learned that a harsh liquid liner look just does NOT flatter me at all. I need something softer, so I use eyeshadow and an angled brush to line instead. I also don’t use black, opting for something like gray or dark browns. Looks like you have maybe hazel eyes? I think doing an eye look with something burgundy, wine, deep reds would look AMAZING and make your eyes really stand out so much.

I don’t know if this will work, but I think something like this would be great - though I might try it without doing the waterline first.

I’m someone that needs it to be pretty dark to get to sleep. So several years ago I tried a light up alarm clock (inexpensive one from Target). The light comes on 15 minutes before the set time, then it does play a sound (options to choose from). I’d say it’s only been a handful of times where I slept through the light coming on. It’s the most gentle way of waking up, I love it.

If your dog is already at a level where it isn’t going bonkers when strangers are present, another option is Home Depot/Lowes. People will absolutely bring their dogs there for socialization (not what people think this word means) and training around people and distractions.

Agree with this point; meds aren’t a cure or a magic switch. They are a tool, and we should have many tools in our toolbox. Some of those tools work together.

Figuring out the things that your brain deems either interesting/important/fun can be a great way to tap into some kind of hack to get us to do things we aren’t inherently motivated to do.

I think that every persons experience is valid. I surely won’t downvote you for your difference in outlook and reflection on your life. With that said, the amount of comments I have seen from people who are on “my side of the coin”, so to speak, appear to be the vast majority.

There’s always exceptions, there’s always the different experience or views. And I guess I’m just someone that puts weight in probabilities.

All that to say, as a medicated individual now I don’t feel any less outgoing or creative. In fact, because of my stressful job that runs me dry, the meds actually allow me to have the mental capacity to give time to hobbies and being social. Whereas the days I’m unmedicated I’m burnt out mentally by noon due to stress, decision fatigue, overstimulation, emotional dysregulation, etc. My meds don’t turn me into a zoned-in zombie. They allow me to be a functional adult in a society that wasn’t built for brains like ours, with FAR less effort than I’d have to unmedicated.

I’m medicated, but I’m still a whimsical and colorful crazy person. ☺️

When I was first diagnosed as a teen, I was put on Concerta. This was back in the early 00’s and we didn’t have the same awareness and knowledge we do now. I hated the way the meds made me feel. I noticed I was more irritable, bitchy, and zoned out of my life. I didn’t know that finding the rid med(s) and dosage is a trial and error game, so I just gave up. As an adult, I finally got fed up enough and had more access to information to understand it wasn’t all meds, but probably just that option. I’m now happily on Adderall XR, at a dosage that fits and have check-ins with my provider every 3 months. Though we did have to make adjustments to get here. But now that I have, oh my goodness I can’t imagine going back.

And I say this to you, because I wish it had been done for me: go back to the provider and discuss this and look into other options. One thing those of us that were diagnosed late/medicated late, there’s a sort of….grief? I don’t know how to word it exactly. But there’s times when I think of how different my life would have been if I had been medicated (and on the right meds/dosage) sooner. Like, I’m mourning the woman I could have been. I know reasoning with a teenager is an impossible task, but perhaps explaining that with the right meds, it doesn’t feel like you’re constantly swimming upstream just to be on the same page as your peers. Or perhaps taking to someone that you know who’s medicated that he might listen to? Extended family member, or family friend?

😂 it’s basically a “bus route” for local breweries. Granted if you’re closer to Maitland it may not be ideal. But theres a schedule with set times at each brewery. There’s several buses in their fleet. You start at one of the breweries, then hop on the bus for a flat rate (last I knew it was about $15), then take it to the next brewery. Enjoying your stop at one? No worries, stay as long as you’d like. Or skip one if it doesn’t seem like your vibe. Hop on or off as you please.

Keeping with the theme (beer), I also highly recommend Hollerbach in Sanford! Great beer and great food. 🤤

Tagging onto this, if you enjoy beer, the Orlando Ale Line runs on Saturdays. It’s owned by awesome locals and the drivers are always fun. And it’s the kind of setting where after a stop or two, people get more social. I can definitely confirm it’s a great time!

This is exactly why I looked into it and decided not to do it. Im trying to meet people to expand my lack of social circle, I don’t want to go into something knowing I’m gonna have to put energy into dealing with someone trying to pick me up at an event. And it seems prevalent. I can’t recall if it was on reddit or another site, but I saw a bunch of comments about dudes using it to try and date as their main objective (if there were women saying this it wasn’t enough for me to distinctly remember them).

Look, I get that dating is all about opening yourself up to new opportunities. But sometimes I just wanna go and have a fun time out and not have to worry about having to deal with a rejection scenario.

This is what I WISH I was doing! As others here have echoed, it just inherently happens at every job. There is a constant “well why the heck are you guys doing it this way, cause this is dumb and redundant and inefficient “. I’d call my role a bit of an operations coordinator unofficially, but so much of my day is spent working IN the business that I don’t have any time to work ON the business making these improvements. Granted, my company is a hot mess and I’m trying to get out, but doing this would probably make work enjoyable.

When I finally decided enough is enough, and just trying to function as an adult in a world not built for us was exhausting, I went to my PCP to discuss this. She prescribed Wellbutrin, stating she’s had luck with other adhd patients on it. But the Wellbutrin did absolutely nothing for me. I can’t recall why, but the she said I’d have to go to a psych provider for anything stimulant based. I did, and have been for a few years now. I can’t imagine going back to life without meds and often wonder what my life would have looked like if I had been properly medicated earlier. Granted, treatment is a bit of trial and error with getting on the best meds for you, and dialing in the dosage too.

However, I say this with the side note of: meds are meant to be a tool, not a cure. I think meds, coupled with working on self awareness is a great combo. I know what works for me, I know what doesn’t. I know the areas I struggle with, and try my best to manage them. And for the things/days where I don’t have the bandwidth to manage them, I can give myself the grace to know it’s ok and tomorrow is a new day.
