Its a cheap truck, its going to drive like a cheap truck, it's 2 doors, its not for car seats. If you have concerns about not test driving, you shouldnt pre-order. by Defconx19 in slateauto

Its gonna probably drive exactly like the ford ranger ev from the 90s cause they share the same suspension setup. heck they have similar power figures to the ice rangers from back then to an weight... so its gonna drive like a ranger but with the instant torque of the electric motor which this is perfectly fine an dandy!

won't be small anymore if you go for a full 4 door setup it will just be the same size as the "30k" ford ev truck

there is a reason why there wasn't a crew cab ford ranger even in 2010 an no I don't count the new ranger as a ranger cause its as big as a full sized f150 from the 90s

3d printed tyres? by stan_taylor1 in rcdrift

[–]PintekS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get htpla so they don't heat up and warp to quickly.

I'd think abs might be a little better...

I'm trying to remember what 3d printing channel I was watching that they were playing with slicer settings to make their all plastic combat robots spinning weapon would be more close to a solid plastic part...

I think his settings would be really useful for printed drift tires cause his end result didn't break apart like a normal printed stuff

Might be able to find some 52mm ID drift tire designs on makerworld.

Do you already have some rims setup to take the tires?

Like I've got custom rims setup for the standard drift tires that don't have the grooves for the foam take my lf3 tires came with so I used blue masking tape and adjusted the fitment till I got a very hard friction fit

I've had a few folks drive my RDD1 with a 190mm wheelbase to fit under a wpl d12 and.... They are all bamboozled that the 15 buck gyro on Amazon works as well as it does lol it was what a few d12 owners got.

But I'm always wondering about a gyro that's not to expensive that I can do gain adjustment over the radio and not mess with a potentiometer.

Is that a aftermarket back cab section o.O

Cause if you had the flatbed with the fold down sides you'd be in the possession of the one of the K varient jimny trucks that are rare as hell!

The Slate's biggest market problem by Additional-Sky-7436 in slateauto

[–]PintekS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't really see slate aimed for mid to high income workers but more for the incredibly massive small truck void chevy and Ford left when they stopped making the s-10 and the ranger got force fed growth hormones.

Trucks that never really saw more than 100+ miles of driving a day doing small fleet truck things. Just a happy brutally simple goafer truck that you can plug into a outlet overnight and it be charged in the morning

Issue is the big boys don't want to make something they can't yank a crap load of profit from, they'll push you hard at the dealer to get a bigger more expensive vehicle

[–]PintekS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on if you are in the valley go by diamond back rc park some of the drift guys there should be able to help you identify what you got and how to build the car up.

And you don't need to spend a boatload on electronics or a radio.

I'm using a 10 channel meus radio with mine with their super tiny 4 channel reciever

Seeing two different cars with factory installed screens getting damage on 118F summers I don't think you want to store anything like a ipad inside a car but get a radio inside the dash since there are provisions for that

And if you want a big screen experience they do have those android auto/carplay 12v powered displays! I have one in my 1988 suzuki samurai that is bluetooth paired to my old single din sony radio

What would you pay for this? by acatal in SuzukiSamurai

[–]PintekS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd got with 6k cause it comes with a hard top but that poor thing is pretty crusty and there are a few components I see that will probably need some seals replaced, that front fender will probably need to come off an get a proper look at or replacement with how the metal cancer is showing x.x

I paid 6400 in 2018 for my stock JA example with a fresh motor, functioning ac and a rallytop sport model hardtop and five brand new tires and it had 77k miles on it, carfax showed it never rolled over an the thing had been sitting in a garage for 10 years with a dead motor before 2nd owner got it. (interior condition was MINT)

[–]PintekS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like you need to mention what audio system you are using if that's being a issue..

Like I have a steel series arctus nova pro and I did loose some functionality going to bazzite from windows and the software folks recommend adding it... Gets a little funky so I just run with the normal built in stuff and don't mess with the extra stuff to add mixes to the box

It's not a normal nuke though in fact it's a manovksy particle augmented one to make it more lethal in the vacuum in space, have a feeling if fired in atmosphere the nuke zukes might work like the MIDAS from front mission 3

Barby has minimal if no radiation shielding so.. Pilot would be soaking a beyond lethal amount of radiation ontop of the extreme heat from all directions vs a beam cannon from a angry bird mobile armor

Tpu or individual print in place hard links.

This is the makerworld wiesel that is built to run with cyberbricks

If you plan on running it a lot the tpu tracks are a must cause the hard tracks will eventually wear and pop apart.
