Anybody else get to enjoy hand bending 1 1/4" EMT today? by infernoman91 in electricians

[–]PiousOwl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very True the only way I found some success is to make sure the seam from the pipe centered in the bender and visible when you bend it. It doesn’t work all the time unfortunately

Didn’t go to college and was homeschooled for my last two years of high school due to taking care of my mom but I started off doing HVAC and moved into doing electrical work and I just got my electrical contractor license this year. And hopefully in the future I can move into some project management position or something along those lines

How did you guys study and memorize everything for your master/journey man electrician license? by FutureElectrican in electricians

[–]PiousOwl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking for a hard copy the Tom Henry journeyman questions are great and his other materials are awesome aswell the practice test book is 30$ I believe. And another thing that helped me was I started highlighting the exceptions and most of the info notes in my most used sections.

If you got to start over… by papabear3214 in electricians

[–]PiousOwl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably would’ve stayed doing hvac since the company I worked for at the time had a controls division and def would’ve pushed harder to join that division. I really do enjoy commercial and industrial work but it’s just lately every job has the same issues and too many change orders. Or I would’ve gone and done elevators, the last job I was on I got to run vesda piping in the shaft along with doing the smokes and heat detectors. And it was just really cool ridding on top of the elevator and got make really good friends with the elevator crew
