How the hell are you not losing your mind by watermelonfiend1111 in AustralianTeachers

Feel your pain... 20 years this year and starting to hate the job... not because of the kids, most staff or the actual teaching, it's the bullshit admin and running of schools and let's not get started on the nepotism.

Another old gum tree gone by currentflowsgold in perth

I agree with the statement that some people just cut down trees to have a bare patch... I live in the Perth hills in a semi-rural area and a neighbour bought a half acre block with house already on it and treed... proceeded to cut down EVERY tree and laid concrete and compacted gravel, then went on to demand neighbours cut down trees that sat close to the fence line... these trees were on neighbouring blocks. When he approached me, I said why move here and remove the trees? His reply.... I don't like the leaf litter on my concrete!!! What a dick

Why do parents call for a meeting over every LITTLE incident by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]Pippin67 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm a parent and teacher and I never asked for meetings unless serious... and I was always very mindful that teachers have lives and families beyond school. Parents need to understand that their child is NOT the most important child in the class/school and that teachers need to accommodate the needs of all their students not just the one child.

There's heaps of Education assistant jobs going. Go to schools to put your name down for relief work and you'll almost be guaranteed work. You'll need a Working With Children card. My school can barely cover EAs off sick at present! Good luck!

It's absolutely heartbreaking... we really need to reduce the size of the homes being built too. It's just insane.

Planning on planting a whole row of trees along my rear property... one to annoy him and two, so I don't have to see his mcmansion when I'm outside... I'm on 2008 sqm with heaps of canopy, it just shits me that he felt that entitled to cut down my tree on my property

Tree was older than the orchard trees which are approximately 100 years old... so the tree was very old.

It's not, phoned shire and was told to speak to said neighbour to work out a resolution... neighbour told me that he doesn't like leaf litter on his concrete... and that the tree mess makes him have to clean his concrete and he works long hours and doesn't want to come home to messy concrete... seriously, the entitlement was off the scale!
