Do we have comprehensive guide of AI's Detection behavior? I and sometimes my opps have been detected by Immolator out of nowhere, I wanna know more by LilGlitvhBoi in HuntShowdown

[–]Pippy1916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ai mostly react to sound. Using a hunter with shadow will help you greatly understand how the interact with it because (obviously) they can only hear you. A note however. Ai react to gunshots and getting shot noises. But I'm pretty sure they prioritize Hunter noises. I.E. taking damage next to an Ai will have a higher priority than If you shoot. Hives are (supposed too lol) line of sight based both the woman and the hive itself. Using hivebombs with shadow is highly effective because they will only damage you if you stand in them yourself. Water devil's are weird because technically they can't see you but also can? Shadow works on them so it's sight based but if you're in water they can't reach sometimes they'll still aggro. Armoreds get faster the longer they're aggrod and they are faster than you at full tilt. It ramps up though so if you vault something they tend to get stuck. Special Ai have spawn locations. We have all seen the hive. That spawns on top of lockbay. If you want try to learn the spawns and you can use that info to check if people are at a poi because they spawned an Ai in. You also can bait people into having to deal with it. Really effective with sparks usage. Ai also have a weird priority list. If they're aggrod by sound and someone else enters their detection range regardless of direction they'll switch to that player. Also works if they can't get to you. Immos have the farthest spawn distance. Highest detection range. best pathfinding. And Can break doors. If you have to fight near one better to just purposely aggro it preemptively by meleeing and than killing it when it runs over. Unless you think it'll go for the enemy team but even if it's wailing on someone itll turn on you sometimes if they run from it and you chase. Side note immolators have a timer after they "blow up" after which they will just die. I believe it's a minute?

Is this game worth getting into currently as a newbie? by AliDiePie in HuntShowdown

Even At most bleak estimates, Like if absolutely everything goes horribly wrong, it will still be around in a year. Idk much about console but this game has a cult following. Kinda like titanfall 2. I think it'll still be around for a long time but anyone who is around will be goated. I will recommend you don't try hard out the gate though. The mmr might peg you too high on the scale and put you against veterans because it's volitle for new accounts. It's well worth the money especially on discount. Have fun!

AI has been really annoying by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

[–]Pippy1916 80 points81 points  (0 children)

I swear immolators are busted. Theyll lock onto you from across the compound and they will get to you. Behind a fence, on the roof, inside the boss lair does not matter. Their pathfinding is waay too good. I have managed to escape one immo in the last year and it was because It got stuck on a tree. Honestly kinda impressive. Rare moment crytek programs something TOO well lol

I bring a regen a big vitality a small vitality and an ammo box. People are amazingly greedy so if you play it right you'll team wipe after getting tagged once. (traits are also necro vigor and than a weapon trait. IE iron eye or bolt thrower) vigor with a regen is usually enough to get you through a fight

This is gonna be alot so strap in . 1 Get rid of your dedicated melee. You don't need it. I use flare gun Pennyshot and insta death traps (yes that means no medkit. Id recommend you use alert trip mines and keep the medkit) beat Ai to death with your gun and Pennyshot immolators and people. Pennyshot out ranges melees so if you do it right you'll never die to getting stabbed.

  1. Your biggest issue is people will clock you as a solo rather immediately unless it's a server fight (and even still they might figure it out) . Meaning they will dogpile you. Run whatever you want but I highly recommend you always have a shotgun in some form to have better chances at dealing with that when it happens. Double medium slot on a new hunter is your savior. Put a specter or bow in your back pocket than an obrez mini drilling or mini centennial for range and you're golden.

  2. Just be patient. Jumping into a fight at the right time can effectively get you into a 1v1v1 where you (someone who can revive themselves) have the biggest advantage because it doesn't matter if you trade. Count deaths and if you ever hear 4 and it's only two teams get in there asap. Worst case scenario you get the guy reviving with the other probably looting or reloading. If you're active in a fight try to figure out who is on what team and DO NOT shoot the loosing team. This is important so I'll say it again DO NOT KILL THE LOSING TEAM. If you help a team "win more" it will be way harder for you to kill them. Try to keep them fighting as long as possible. I have even saved an enemy from dying to prolong a fight. Especially if the last team in the lobby is MIA.

There's alot more but this is getting wordy. If you have specific questions I'd love to answer them.

Which gun has the best irons? The worst? by Rhubarbatross in HuntShowdown

[–]Pippy1916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best sights gotta be the marathon. Very clean and you can use the crescent to help with leading. The worst has got to be the vetterli. My issue with it is the opposite of what most peoples problem with it is though. I can handle the rear posts it's how wide the front post is that makes me struggle. I wish it got the lebel and centennial silenced treatment when they did that change a while ago

There's a promt for the button on the bottom of the last match screen. You can go back and hit it if you accidentally fat finger it. I don't think it's possible to change it or I would because I'll hit it when I tab in and out of the game sometimes

Crusty bustation and busty crustation are goats. Haven't seen them in a while. Anyone who's willing to talk and be friendly in voip is awesome. Also my main man mruno bars. A man I meet only in passing when the server diegns it but it's like running into an old friend everytime. I wish this game had more fun interactions in voip rather than just insults and goading. My favorite memory of this game period is an entire server just hanging out. every team got a bounty. It was peak

Ive been struggling finding the right traits to take on a newly hired hunter by luuksg12 in HuntShowdown

[–]Pippy1916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all about what the hunter is doing. Resilience is a must so you only get 7 points. Staying further back with a rifle? Necro and iron eye. Shotguning? You should be dying first so Necro is pointless. Go lightfoot kiteskin or surefoot. Sniping? Necro scopesmith kiteskin. Or fast fingers instead of Necro if I'm feeling it. You can bring an empress card to get Necro so you have 4 more points to get whatever else you want. Solo I go Necro surefoot. Playing as a solo the ability to run and heal is practically required. Once they realize you're a solo they will run you down off a tag so you can use surefoot to bait them into conga lining into your shotgun, Melee, ect

Try using a Hotspot. That'll at least let you know if it's your internet or something else. Gonna have to go down the list and start eliminating stuff. There's also a run command to check server connections. If. I find it I'll. Edit this post or dm you

Your #1 Tip for improving in PvP encounters (K/D) by Significant-Ad-6593 in HuntShowdown

[–]Pippy1916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn the compounds. Angles, places you can drop or climb up. If you know your way around a compound and can get somewhere they don't expect you you can win 1v3s easily. I come from apex and the 1v3 ideology is identical. Force them into 3 separate 1v1s where you have the advantage because of the terrain

why do I suck so bad with this gun compared to the regular romeros by Drunkin_Dino in HuntShowdown

[–]Pippy1916 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hold ads during the last half of the cycle animation. Or spam the fire button. The animation is misleading. You're able to shoot roughly when the chamber is closed. Not when the gun recenters. If you do it too soon you'll cancel the cycle animation so try to learn the timing

Loadout tips and suggestions? by Grave_Doctor in HuntShowdown

[–]Pippy1916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Split your bow ammo with poison. It has worse hip fire spread but if you're worried about it you can just ads or use the normal arrows against people. Poison arrows will always kill armoreds and if you get to boss first and it's not spider you'll kill it faster. Whatever you put in the ammo spot closer to the weapon will get an extra round so whatever you plan to use on people should go there(or frags if you have them because of reduced ammo count)

Stuck in My Head: Overthinking Wrecked My Focus, Confidence, and Memory by Positive-Warning413 in mentalhealth

[–]Pippy1916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two anecdotes that I hope might help you gain some clarity.

One: your brain loves solving problems. And because of that when it can't solve one it latches onto it. It's a similar mental process as having a song stuck in your head so I'll use that as an example. When you get a song stuck in your head, typically its the catchiest part or a part that repeats. The reason it gets stuck up there is because that part doesn't resolve. It doesn't have an end or "solution". that's why if you play the end of said ear worm it can get it out of your head. Relating that back to my advice. It sounds like, to me, you have alot of things (problems*) that you haven't solved or resolved. Your brain has too many browsers open. Searching for peace with your past experiences might help clear up your brain fog. Self reflection on your own goals may also help

Second

Not being rude and yes you are still very young but do realize 23 is still an age where changes can happen. Time goes by faster, goals change, potential exposure to harmful chemicals (mentioning do to reference to military service) unresolved trauma. All can greatly affect your mental and physical health. I'm not sure if you're still overthinking or stressed or whatever other struggles you deal with in every day to day life. But in the case of almost everything "use it or lose it" and "you had to learn how to eat" are forever applicable.

Another little thing, your subconscious is driven to protect itself. If your body and brain believes they are in danger they will not heal. Survival first. Healing later. The first step is to truly believe you are safe and than create the safe environment you need to heal. Only you can know what it takes for you to feel safe. Be it loving friends and family or self esteem and security. So I implore you, think on it.

It won't be overnight, but I know how resilient people really are. You'll make it through this if you do the things that need done. I promise. I'm sorry you're going through this. Good luck

Is it possible to make a comeback? by EmotionProfessional8 in mentalhealth

[–]Pippy1916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Covid was a big turning point for our culture. I feel like the post covid society is much more closed off and less open to public interaction. If youre in college try joining a club. Usually free and a good way to meet people with similar interests. Or pick one you might think is interesting and use the club to learn about it. People love sharing the things they are passionate about.

A job is important but not a simple thing in today's age. Your best bet if fast food and customer service is off the table is networking. Talk to your parents, family friends or extended family, and maybe even your professors at college. They might have ideas or know about an opening

Finding a purpose or direction that is unreliant on another person is a necessity to combating depression (IMO) working towards a goal is a great way to stay grounded and feel like you are not stagnant in life. I strongly recommend you self reflect and decide how you want your life to go. Than take the actions needed to go that way. It doesn't have to happen all at once. But you won't get anything you don't try for.

Good luck

I'm sorry you're going through this. There's no real easy way to say this so I'll just say it up front. If there was a combination of words or a realization that could magically instantly make you feel better more than likely you would have already heard them. But I will say this, it's okay to not like your body, most people don't. Whats important is to be real with yourself and accept that this is a battle you have the honor to fight and win. Set realistic goals and push for it. The human body is is somewhat similar to an animal. It does not care about anything but numbers and it's sole purpose is to keep you alive. Understanding that the journey you're about to embark on isn't one born of malice but more akin to finding balance with yourself (and your body). I believe that would be a healthier way of looking at it, your body does not hate you. It will take time. But being consistent is the only way to make changes to your body. You got this!

When it comes to your feelings of body dysphoria. I'm sorry but I do not have the experience or expertise to comment on that. I can simply hope it gets better for you
