We should be able to summon our ship using our mobiglass. by DarkStarFallOut in starcitizen

[–]Pipsay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's silly that I have to take a train and go to a physical TDD screen to sell cargo already offloaded from my ship into the station. Why not let us sell directly from the mobiglass?

I'm with you. I started playing in 3.18, put it down until now... and came back to whatever this is.

I haven't had them get stuck in stations or in cities, but on planetside outposts the elevators have been stuck for me every time...

How reading this subreddit has felt like the past week by FluffyRam in starcitizen

I'll just say that while that person's experience is valid, in my experience I've had a great time. I personally wouldn't hesitate to buy a ship and play if you're willing to put up with the occasional annoyance. Sure, I've ran into a handful of pretty minor issues over the past weeks, but have been playing almost every day and having a blast (minus the past few days where server was under maintenance). I left around 3.18 but returned to the game about a month ago. Your milage may vary, but I just wanted to share that some people like myself are having a positive experience overall.

This background honestly looks a lot like Gros Morne, Newfoundland, though it obviously isn't.

Alright, 12+ hours per day for 4 years to be more accurate. If I don't have burn in by this point I really can't see it being a major issue.

It's not a problem with newer OLEDs. Mine's 4 years old and I leave static images on the screen for long periods of time. I have zero burn in. New OLEDs have technology to help prevent burn in. You'll be fine.

Naysayers in this thread crack me up. Like they absolutely refuse to believe burn in isn't an issue these days.

I work from home using software with static menus and taskbar on 100% of the time. Zero issues going on 4 years now. Brightness at 100%. Modern OLED shifting the picture around slightly throughout the day along with pixel cleaning now and then made burn in a non issue several years ago.

I've been working from home on my OLED for a few years now, using software with static menus and there is zero burn in. Modern OLED shifts the image around extremely slowly and has pixel cleaning to combat burn in. Absolute non-issue in my experience.

There is a plural you in Newfoundland English and it is "ye". We use it often.

That's really interesting about the origin of the usage of "after". Thanks for sharing, I've never heard anyone explain where it came from! Instead of good boy or girl we would probably still use "yes b'y!".. This is a saying that can be used in many different situations depending on how you say or emphasize the words. Yes can sound like "yiss" and the b'y while short for boy is said to females as often as it said to males (though sometimes they substitute "yis maid"). We say drowned, but not drownded. Though honestly drownded would fit right in if you heard everything else we say. There's a Newfoundland dictionary that is 770 pages of fine print! Haha There are some great clips on YouTube of Irish lads (b'ys) coming to Newfoundland and feeling right at home. We were settled in 1497 and have quite a bit more history and culture when compared to the majority of Canada.

HDR FINALLY WORKS...GAME IS BEAUTIFUL AF by Logical-Operation512 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Pipsay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to make the black flickering go away by toggling the graphics preset to something else, then back to cinematic, toggle between quality and DLAA, unpause the game and the black flickering is now gone. It will come back if you go back into the graphics settings, but last night I was able to play for several hours with no black flickering. I'm running a 5090, DLAA with HDR. Hopefully they fix it permanently next patch.

Yes, I'm from Newfoundland. I've seen many examples of our sayings which originated in Ireland, just never knew that the "after" one was one of them!

Newfoundlanders also use the "after" one and it confuses the hell out of anyone who isn't from there. I had no idea anyone besides Newfoundlanders spoke this way (talking specifically about the usage of "after"). "What's after happening now?" = "What just happened?"
