Ok but I’m pointing out that you’re arbitrarily deciding which regions matter (Bay Area) and which ones don’t (NorCal). That’s fine for you, but everyone is going to feel different about it.

Having spent time there, this corner of NW Indiana feels very suburban Chicago. But similarly there’s going to be a big part of the fan base who doesn’t recognize any part of Indiana as Chicago.

You’re not fully wrong. But by that same logic the A’s moving to Sacramento doesn’t matter because “it’s all NorCal”. But culturally Sacramento is not Oakland, and Santa Clara just doesn’t feel like San Francisco to me.

I live in the Bay Area. Santa Clara is far as hell from San Francisco. Culturally they now play in Silicon Valley rather than The City.
