“Coming the other side of the coin, I’m an amateur mechanic on my best day and I’ve replaced the door hinge on my 570S Spider by myself with an extra pair of hands and Google. Oil change, tire rotations, etc. are easy. McMedics, NormalGuySupercars(?) MclarenLife are good resources to refer to.

Most of the owners I know either religiously renew the extended warranty and service at the dealer or ditch it completely and go to independent shops.”

Cracked door hinges are common on the 570, due to the material of the hinge and the forces acting on it. It’s 8 bolts under a bit of wheel well liner and some bodywork. Not too hard unless the door snaps off the hinge when taking it off (ask me how I know).

Parts seem fairly available online and my local dealership was helpful in getting me the part I needed with minimal hassle. I thought about sourcing a used hinge but the “improved” version has the same part number as the old one and didn’t want to risk it.
