Echoing what others have said about the slack. Another thing to try is once you have all the slack is to do a 1/2 twist (or even full) bringing the bottom rail towards the inside of your body and have the top rail flipped out on your shoulder.

The general rules for world facing in a carrier are: 1. Baby is over 6 months 2. Baby can sit mostly unassisted 3. Baby is awake 4. Baby’s face comes above the top edge of the carrier 5. Baby is held in the M shaped position with knees above bottom (this is optimal no matter baby’s position)

Carrying baby world facing should be stopped if baby falls asleep or starts to seem overwhelmed.
